A 12-string with a blend of pop jangle and straight rock 'n' roll power.

The 12-string Schecter Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar is based on Schecter's popular 006 guitars. The Stargazer 12 provides a unique blend of pop jangle and straight rock 'n' roll power. Schecter gives the Stargazer a bound ash body and a set-in 25-1/2" maple neck. The guitar's rosewood fingerboard is outfitted with handsome block inlays.

Schecter SuperRock Custom Alnico humbuckers can be individually split for single-coil tones via the Schecter Stargazer 12's separate tone controls for a wide array of sonic textures. A Diamond adjustable-12 bridge and Grover tuners add resonance and tuning stability. Case sold separately.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

Purchased in spring 2012. Play through Line 6 Spider amp for external sound, favorite use is for recording direct into Tascam DP 01/FX/CD portastudio.

Very happy with this guitar, great value, very nice sustain, have played extensively for 6 months with out of box setup, minimal tuning required.

Has become my favorite guitar to play.

Also play a Martin 12 string acoustic and G&L F100 Series I 6 string that dates back to 1984.

Absolutely sounds great with all the built in Tascam effects available with the portastudio.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

I have a Ric 6 string, was looking for a 12, I was unaware that Schecter had a 12 string. Saw one on used gear. I have a Schecter Corsair, like it very well so I felt confident ordering the 12 string unseen. I was not disappointed. The craftmenship is excellent, it also has a nice sleek, well balanced body. Sounds great. Best when you leave the pickups in the down position. It was also set up out of the box. All I did was tune up the strings and started playing Mister Tambourine Man.
For the money, I rate this as a 10.

Schecter 12 String, Working Man's Rickenbacker

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

I have always loved the sound of an electric 12 string from the Beatles to the Byrds and have eyed a Rickenbacker 12 string for ages, but given the choice between a Rick 6 string with a chorus vs. a Rick 12 string, when looking at your wallet the 6 string is the more practical buy so my dream of a good quality electic 12 string was just a far off wish. Awhile ago I started to get the itch for another guitar and started to look at 12 strings. I was looking at the Dean 12 string and really didn't like it and the Fender 12 string was almost as bad as a Rickenbacker 12 string in price, so I put 12 strings out of my buying goal.I was in a local music store and saw a 12 string out of the corner of my eye and thought it was a Rick 620 or 660 12 and took my usual closer look at it and saw that it was a Schecter. I picked it up and tried it out and it was love at first feel and sound. It has a balanced neck to body weight ratio and the Duncan pick-ups make it sound like a Rick 620x12. I had to fight my irrational bias against it being a Schecter and not a Rick, but when I saw the price and played it with my eyes closed, I immediately put it to the top of my list. I dinged it on the quality a bit, because I think the tuners could have been better and my irrational Rickenbacker bias, but for the price it is a deal. If you have looked at a Dean 12 string, make the stretch and go for this guitar. It sounds great, the neck is comfortable I even like the Crimson color (very Rickish) and a real tonal asset to any player's collection. I left the store and ordered it from Musician's Friend, their pricing was better and have always had a good experience buying gear from them. I always assume a guitar may need a set-up, so I will have my local guy do that for me. Way to go Schecter for filling a guitar junkie's void!!!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stargazer 12 Electric Guitar:

I wish I would have purchased one years ago. This is a very usable guitar with a wide range of tones. It is very affordable, well constructed, and looks good too! You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to get that 12 string sound that you have heard on many recordings - this guitar will do the trick. I can't put it down.
