A compact guitar with traditional styling and modern electonics.
The Seagull Coastline Series Grand Parlour QI is an acoustic-electric guitar that's great fun to play. The Coastline Grand Parlour produces a surprisingly big sound. Using computer modeling to optimize the internal bracing and soundhole design, this Seagull guitar represents an intriguing mix of old and new. The Coastline Grand is beautifully complemented with the addition of the optional Quantum I EQ system.
Seagull Coastline guitars are outstanding values. The back and sides of Coastline series guitars are made from a 3-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice for guitar construction. Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from silver leaf maple.
The Godin EPM Quantum I electronics system is simple in design and outstanding in performance. This single source system features an exceptionally responsive saddle transducer carefully matched to side mount electronics with rotary volume, bass, and treble controls. The electronics and controls are packaged in a small and easy to use format complemented with a finely crafted pewter cover plate. In combination with the transducer, the EQ control range and frequency content have been specifically contoured to provide a very rich and full sound reproduction resulting in performance seen only in far more complex systems.

I bought the non-electric model for its smaller size and portability. This is one sweet smaller guitar. It has an amazing sound and great projection for its size. Dollar for dollar, it's possible that Seagull is the best value guitar on the market. One caution, the natural finish will scratch and wear. I wish I had put a clear pickguard on mine, for I have worn some of the finish by overstriking with the pick. Oh well, gives it character.PS: I have owned this guitar for about 4 years. It's my favorite small circle/living room/jam guitar.
This is one smokin little guitar sports fans (its my 4th seagull) 10 years or so ago I bought a standard grand as a travel guitar/beater (due to its small sized body) and immediately fell in love with it as my main guitar (and I've got a $5000 Martin and a Dobro & about 25 other guitars to choose from) My original was getting pretty roadworn so I retired it to home use & bought this to play out, the electronics sound awesome & the built in tuner is a godsend, the gloss finish really looks beautiful. I can not say a single negative thing about this guitar. (and Oh yeah for parlor playing this axe has just the right balance of tone & really plays sweet)
The transducer and onboard electronics allow one to beef up the bass response, which is nice for gigs. The same quality craftsmanship as the non electronic version. I have both versions, and was happy to see that nothing was sacrificed in the latest entry. Very pleasant to play and hold, and good value.
