I bought this guitar to take on business trips, camping, etc. The price and sound were impressive considering the cost. I did have to take the first one back because the bridge had crumbled, but the replcement seems to be holding out. Threw some elixir strings on it and it sounds just as good as my other nicer guitars.Perfect for dragging around. The case I bought for it was more expensive then the guitar!
My lovely wife bought this Silvertone PD2 Acoustic guitar for me as gift for a "camping" guitar. I figured for the price the quality might not be the best. That is a good attitude to have with this. However, it is a nice lightweight guirat, but definately not flimsy, so probably really good for a beginner. The good: I am impressed by the sound and tone. Rich and robust for a guitar of this price. It looks great and the fingerboard and frets seem to be in good shape. The bad: the neck is bowed where it connects to the body. no amount of truss rod tweeks have been able to make this guitar play above the 11th fret without buzzing so far. All songs played on the rest of the fingerboard are fine though. Overall, I like this guitar alot and it will sound great around a campfire and looks great. If you have someone that wants to see if they might like to play guitar, this one won't break the bank but sounds and lookes better then you expect for the price.
