If I ever want another telecaster I will be buying from squire. Why would you want to spend a lot on guitar when you can get this one for about 1/3 of the price. There is nothing I would change on this guitar. Best as is guitar I have played. Like I said earlier the frets could of been taken care better. But overall a real steal for the price.
A bolt on neck very solid, smooth and easy to go up and down the neck. The strap button seems solid. The body is a little heavy but solid. The pickups are real nice, the neck pickup has a very mellow sound to it very different from the bridge pickup which has a lot of treble boost to it. And with both pickups a nice blend of both. From this point I will keep the pickups.
A real nice guitar. The only problem is the frets along the side of the neck could of been sanded a lot smoother, but will not affect playing. A near flawless guitar at this price range.
I applaud squire for making a excellent guitar at an affordable price.i own a squire strat and the same goes with it. Honestly I glad I didn't buy the $399 fender telecaster that I was looking at. A real telecaster sound for a beginner guitarist price range.

I give this guitar a 5 out of 10 only because of the extremely low quality control on the factory setup and the hardware (tuning keys, bridge, input jack plate and pickup selector) are of low quality however, I do not plan on upgrading them. Everything works fine and I very gentle with my guitars.
Not much to mention, its a solid body hard tail guitar with a bolt on neck.
Out of the box this guitar was a mess. Very sharp frets, extremely high action, intonation off on every string and the neck had a inward bow. Not to mention a slight crack (very slight but noticeable) in the body at the neck joint. I did however expected this from a cheap guitar. After a complete setup - filing the frets, setting the action, setting the intonation and straightening out the neck I must say......I love it, absolutely love it. It is by far one of the most comfortable guitars I have ever played. The neck is perfect for chording jazz and classical chords. I play it clean through both pickups (in the middle position) and the tone is amazing. I can't imagine a custom shop tele playing or sounding much better than this squire.
Off the chart once it is properly set up.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Just forgot one thing, the only thing I can realy see that some may have an issue with on this guitar, which is totally a matter of taste by the way is the pick ups. The bridge is bright and very pronounced but learn to turn a knob people is all I would say to these complaints. Roll back the tone, adjust your amp as well and find your sound. This guitar is awesome!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
When I ordered this I thought to myself, "what have I done? I just bought about the cheapest guitar you can buy. what am I doing?" So that was my mind set going in. It came 2 days later and I kid you not it is the best guitar I have bought in years. (and I've bought quite a few by the way) The quality of this thing is impecable for the money. The tuners are the best I've ever had I think. This thing will stay in tune like nobody's business, and I was bending the bejeezus out of all 4 bottom strings. I couldn't believe it. And it plays awesome. Really well set up, vey nice low action but absolutely no buzz whatsoever. I was blown away. In the last few years I have owned an American G&L tele, and a plethora of mid range price axes and this is by far the best one. I've had an es 335, SG, LP, Strat, es 339, Jazzmaster, but at the end of the day I'm a tele guy at heart. Went searching for something better and couldn't find it. The funny thing is, the main reason I bought this is because it looks almost exactly like the first guitar I ever owned back in 1989, a mexican Fender I believe. It was destiny. This is one killer guitar regardless of the price. They could easily sell this for a lot more! At this price every guitar player should have one.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Let me first say that I am no stranger to the guitar or to quality musical instruments. I've been playing for 9 years now, and I've purchased some pretty terrible instruments over the years that fell within this <200 price range. You honestly can't expect much from such an inexpensive guitar. But, I've always wanted a Tele, and so, after reading reviews on this certain guitar, I hesitantly bought one in Arctic White. . .
The guitar was on my porch only three days later, and upon opening the package I realized what a bargain this was. I have NEVER played a guitar that cost so little but played so well!!!!!!!!!!! A truly amazing buy. The guitar stays in tune quite well, has a solid sound with each pickup, came with stellar action, has a beautiful paint job, and sounds great with every kind of music imaginable. I don't know when Squier started making decent guitars, but this is a steal. Seriously. I am in no way regretful of spending about two hundred George Washingtons on this guitar. I would have paid way more for it!!!!!!!! I've read reviews that brand this guitar as a "beginner" guitar, but, I beg to differ. This Tele could easily be sold for double or even triple the price. You won't find another guitar that plays this "smooth" under two hundred good-ole' American cash moneyzzzzzz, or even SIX HUNDRED, for that matter. I'm telling you, this thing is legit. I cannot express to you my happiness with this purchase. I was not expecting a guitar so well made. I actually wanted a "fixer-upper" but, there's nothing to fix!!!!!!!!! It's wayyyyyyyyyy more playable than my Epiphone Les Paul copy and my Ibanez Gio, both of which cost me more than this Tele. My Epiphone and Ibanez won't stay in tune for anything. It's annoying. But, this Tele has given me no trouble at all thus far!!!
Of course, if you buy it and the pickups, knobs, or tuning keys aren't up to your high standards, they can always be replaced. Always. Stock parts (like the hardware and electrical components) of ANY guitar are not the best in the world. (Duh.) However, they certainly do not need to be replaced on this guitar! This is a quality instrument at a VERY reasonable price. You will NOT find a better deal than this, I guarantee it. I'm already considering buying another one!!!
Well done, Squier. Well done.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I've always been of the opinion "Cheap stuff isn't good, good stuff isn't cheap" This little blue guitar(The color is TO DIE FOR! LOVE IT) proved me wrong!! It could have survived a trip around the world. VERY well packed. It was in PERFECT tune when I took it out of the box. I almost didn't want to play it when I took it out of the box, it was that beautiful!! I have no complaints about this guitar! Haven't plugged it in yet....if you're looking for a SERIOUSLY fast neck, this is it!!!! I'm not sure what the finish is, but it's not like one of those slow, boggy, lacquered necks. This thing flies! Nice weight balance. I might put either .0095's on it, or .010's. To me, the stock .009's on it feel slinky. The 9.5" radius board is forgiving...you can do some nice bends, no choking. Fret edges are like glass! No sharpness. If you're looking for a budget tele, you've found it with a Squire affinity!! I might buy the red one! :) it's THAT GOOD!!

Awesome Finish, Awesome Tone, Awesome playability, Yes It Is A Squire So What, I have a squire II Strat I Have Had For Near 20yrs and to this day is still playing well and sounding great, just because it is a cheap guitar don't make it a bad axe, it is all in the player anyway of how you play hard attack or just a casual player, now me I play hard driving country and southern rock and gospel and it plays well stays in tune well too, and yes I changed strings the day I got it, and set intonation it was a hair off on some strings but a easy fix.. anyway I played it along with some songs on youTube and it sounded great even with some USA Made Tele's.. don't run it down people it is approved by fender so it is the same body as a USA Tele and the neck is just quick action, I lowered the strings just a smidge and the action is even better than before.. and frets are perfect all the way down the neck.. I have been playing for over 30+yrs I have played on a lot of guitars and by far this is the best I have played on..

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Electric Guitar:
This is the perfect guitar for anyone who wants to spice up their sound or look of their guitar. You can easily slip a hot pickup into the bridge position and create a beast. With this axe, you can make a very inexpensive guitar sound like one worth a few hundred. If you're looking for the perfect modification tele, this is the guitar to buy.
