        A standout Strat at a plain-Jane price!

The Squier Black & Chrome Special Edition Strat is oozing with dark, edgy appeal. We've never seen this much dark flash for so little dinero before. The gloss black finish with painted headstock plus pickguard and hardware with that sought-after chrome look add up to a lot of visual appeal. An amazing value designed and backed by Fender!

I bought this guitar because I own a 12 year old Fender American Standard Strat in mint condition, and I was too chicken to change the electronics in it, so as not to "de-value" it. I liked that the Squier B&C guitar was made of real wood, and had a "two point" tremelo. I am also into "all black". I scratched the stock PU's and replaced them with Fender Texas Specials with black PU covers, and swapped in a black pick guard. This guitar is now a "head turner". I own a recording studio, and my "stuck up" friends all grab this guitar. I set it up to play perfect, and the tone is thru the roof. It's a thing of beauty watching one of your friends set down a custom G&L Strat, and pick up a Squier!

Well to begin with I own this guitar. It's okay at first. This is like my first ever guitar and I learned my first song with this guitar. It means alot to me. But it's screwing up now. After four months of having it, the bridge is all messed up for some reason. The frets are like unlevled. Tuning changes everytime I play a bit more " agreesive", occasionally bridge comes up when I properly tune my guitar. There are way more probelms. I loved it at the start, now i still do, but I'd rather start with a epiphone.

For the Black and Chrome Stratocaster Squier by Fender: So I'm just a begginer, although I can say it's a great guitar to start playing, my teacher says it's sounds beautiful... and I think so too... I believe the strings must be changed already (I've had it for less than two weeks)... but for the rest I think it's a beautiful guitar, with great sound, for an affordable price :O It took me quite a long time to choose it, and I don't regret buying this at all... The picture in this site, doesn't show her real beauty. Totally recommended.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

I just purchased this guitar today. It is a very, well made guitar. I have been playing guitar, off and on for the past 20 years. My first guitar was a Squier Stratocaster and i haven't owned anything but Squier Strats. I had an affinity, but decided to goto a Stnadrd series and found this sweat guitar. It is a guitar for the beginner and/or a veteran guitar player. The pickups are cool sounding. The only complaints i have are, the strings needed changed and there was only two tremolo tension springs.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

I have had this guitar for years. Ive played many other guitars, but this is possibly the best looking and sounding one for the price. I love the flat black headstock on a strat, perfect for any garage band.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

I like this guitar. I've had it for about 4 years. I've used it to play live and it didn't let me down. There is some buzzing when it is too loud, but for this price it it okay. I changed the strings as soon as I got it. Over all its a good guitar to start learning. I had already been playing for about 4 years when I bought it, but I still enjoyed it. It a pretty looking guitar, the Tremolo Arm is not black, its white. Good overall value!

        Sweet Strat!

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

I have had this guitar for about two years now. It is a great guitar for beginners and the price can't be beat. The pickups in this guitar are nothing special but for the price what do you expect? Other than that this guitar is great! It stays in tune pretty well, the action is nice and low, and the neck is sweet. I have also played a couple of Bullet Stratocasters and this guitar towers above them in terms of quality. If you are looking for a good guitar at a great price this is the one for you!

This is was my first guitar and have had it for about a 2 years now. I have to say it is one of the best sounding guitars I have played, it suit EVERY style of playing. The neck is unbelievably smooooooth. The only complaint would be that the guitar gets pretty dirty because the chrome faceplate magnifys evey speck of dirt on the pickguard.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

This guitar is worth your money.I've had it for 6 months now and its still in one piece and sounds great. The neck is not too fat or too wide and the body is very shiny, but you have to polish it every once in a while because it will show dust and fingerprints clearly.Don't use the tremolo too much, otherwise the guitar will detune, especially with the factory strings.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

This guitar is a complete piece of crap. I've owned it for over 2 years and it has done nothing but cause trouble for me. We played a gig one time and the bridge popped all the way out causing my guitar to down tune at least 3 steps. Don't buy. Spare yourself the trouble.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Special Edition Strat:

So I've had this guitar for a year and a half now, and I thought I might review it. For starters, the vibrato (whammy bar) is crap. It makes tuning really drawn out and difficult, and when you use it, it makes all of your strings go flat. I blocked mine off by taking off the cover in back and putting a piece of wood it and the back side. Works great now.Anyway, about the sound. It's really cool clean, and you get a different tone from each pickup selection. I love it. With distortion, it still comes through clear and heavy. One thing though about the pickups though is that if you have just a single pickup selected, there is always a humming sound. I like the tone of the combined-pickup positions anyway, so it doesn't bother me.The neck plays really nice, and it's not too fat or wide. It is, overall, a great first guitar. Very pretty, sounds great, and i love mine.
