Great little guitar...although it does have a few issues, they're what one should expect from a low-cost mini guitar. Although it's small and cheap it is NOT a toy- it's a decent quality instrument in a small package. One issue I had was that one of the frets wasn't hammered in properly, so it stuck out a bit and my high E would get snagged in it. No biggie- a few taps of a hammer did the job. I plan on replacing the cheap plastic nut with a roller nut, swapping out the stock tuners for locking Schallers, and putting in a Stetsbar trem. (The stock tuners have a lot of backlash, making the guitar a pain to tune.) The pickups have a similar sound to Duncan Designed pickups, which are decent, so I won't replace those. Due to the short scale length I use very heavy strings tuned to standard (.012s). I wouldn't recommend that for kids though. I've had this little axe for 12 years (since I was 7) and I've never had many problems with it...
Great guitar to travel with, to give to your kids, or to modify....Buy this axe!

I purchased this mini strat a couple of years ago as kind of a gag to hang on the wall next to my full size Strats (2), Peavey's (2)and my Dean guitars. I really thought I would get a 'mini' I could play also. Boy was I wrong. The craftsmanship is great but the damn thing just won't tune! I've tried everything, new strings, bridge adjust but nothing helps so it just hangs on the wall collecting dust. Maybe it's because I ordered it without playing it first. Don't get me wrong, this would be a great guitar for kid if he could keep it in tune.

I'm a truck driver and bought this guitar for practicing in the truck bunk when I have delays ETC. I couldn't be happier with this guitar for the money.

Comments about Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar:

The only issue is i ordered this product for next day delivery, then i noticed the item was backordered so i cancelled the item. 20 or so days later i was charged for the item and it was shipped. I was ok with it because the initial purchase was for my daughters birthday. By the time she recieved the item, was far past the intended date. Honestly, not too happy.

Comments about Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar:

This is the 2nd fender guitar I have purchased for my kids. It's a good size & weight for a young child, petite person or for use as a travel guitar.
It is much lighter than the full size model. Nice quality for a beginners guitar & their teachers were satisfied with it.Gig bag, amp '& strap must be purchased separately. A bit overpriced but ok for the quality you're getting for a beginner.I would say this size will fit a 5-10 yo comfortably.

Daughter got this for Christmas and the smaller version is PERFECT! This is not a tiny toy guitar it is just a smaller version of the fender squire. Super light and a perfect beginner guitar. My daughter is 14 too and she LOVES it.

Comments about Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar:

I took the guitar out of the box tuned it up and away I went. the setup and action on strings are wonderful. The reviews are what sold me to give the product a try. I teach guitar and this is a great starter guitar for anyone. I had a hard time putting it down. I have a bad back and full size guitars can be a real struggle to to hold them up. But this guitar is really light. I will reconmend this guitar again and again.

Comments about Squier Mini Strat Electric Guitar:

I had one of these as a travel guitar for a while instead of my Hoener (which I hated because of its poor balance). The action and feel was really nice but the pickups are a bit weak. Sound good through a small headphone amp but very weedy on my Marshal Amp. Only real limitation was that since its fretboard is a different length to regular guitars its not very good for learning how to play full size...
