I have been playing guitar for 4 years now and now have two PRS SE guitars, a Tube combo amp and plenty of pedals to unleash my creativity with. This package allowed me to get a start in my playing and without it I would not have any of the gear I have now obtained. This package allowed me to make sure I enjoyed playing the instrument before I invested serious money into it while also giving me enough spare money to take lessons for a year. I cant imagine how my life would be without the guitar anymore and without this amazing bundle I might be a different person than I am now.

The package included everything I needed and I would recommend it to everyone who is an aspiring guitarist. The amp is great, although it does kick back a little bit of distortion, and did everything I needed it to in my early stages. The distortion was just enough that I felt like Zakk Wylde and Alexi Laiho while pretending to shred. The guitar played like a dream and the whammy bar held up to me trying to act like Dimebag. I cant stress enough how happy I was and still am with this bundle so do yourself a favor and get one for yourself or that someone you know who wants to be the next Van Halen.
This combo package has everything an aspiring guitarist needs to get going. I begged my parents to let me play guitar, I had just gotten into metal music after years of being foolish and listening to rap, and they bought me a starter kit to allow me to test the waters of the instrument.

It had everything I needed to become inspired; an amp, a guitar and a instrument cable. I put hours into just fiddling around with the guitar included and when I felt I was good enough to show off my new skill I would crank the amp to 10 and blast the house out!
I am past using the items included in this kit, but 4 years later everything still works fine. The amp has been smashed on the street multiple times from carrying it to friends houses (I was a freshman in high school when I started playing so I had no car) and you can hardly tell by the way the exterior looks! Furthermore, the guitar has withheld well. I have dropped the squire; it has fallen out of the strap and has gone through multiple tuning changes without a truss rod adjustment (E standard to C standard) and works just fine! I have it sitting in a travel bag right now and havent touched it in over a year, but I know if I ever need to or feel the urge to pick it up it will still work like it did the day I brought it home.
You are not going to find anything better than this package for the money! It helped me tremendously in my guitar playing and without a cheap affordable bundle I doubt I could have started. Fender has done a good job with this value pack and if you or someone youre shopping for is inspired to play like I was, this will not disappoint!

I bought this set a little over a month ago to learn guitar and love it. I give it a 10 for my skill level, it won't sound like a $1000.00 guitar, but it has great tone and sound never-the-less. The amp, bag, cord, tuner, and stand are all well built and will serve you well. In this price range it is hard to imagine anything beating this guitar package.
The guitar features everything you need to really get into a Strat, the 5 position puck up switch, trem bar, tone knobs, and volume control all work well on mine. The amp included is great for a beginners practice amp, but only has an overdrive switch and lacks more advanced controls. After about a month and a half of playing I'm considering buying an amp with more options. The digital tuner included in the set works very well.
When I opened the pack and started playing right out of the box I realized this guitar needed a set up, at first I was a bit disappointed, but the set up is actually very simple. The washers on the headstock around the tuning pegs rattled and caused buzzing, a 10 mm wrench will take care of that, simply hand tighten the nut on top of the washer until it is snug (don't over-tighten it, it does not need to be crazy tight). The pickups can be adjusted with a Philips screwdriver and it takes a patient ear and personal preference to decide how close the pick-up needs to be to the strings. My pick-ups are lower on the low E string, and raised up higher towards the higher e string. The saddles also needed to be adjusted, make sure the little set screws on each saddle (2 per saddle) are adjusted to the same hight and the saddles are even. Also check your action, the action on my guitar was very high, again set to your preference. The guitar includes a helpful set-up sheet for the action that guides you along. Other than needing a set up, which is to be expected, the guitar is great. The body is solid and the finish is very smooth. the fender strings seem great at first, but I soon switched them out for Ernie Ball Super Slinkies and it really added to the tone of the guitar, I'm sticking with super slinkies now. I am very satisfied with the guitar.

The guitar strap is fine, but I replaced the strap buttons with strap locks. The amp works great and has not given me a problem, same with the cord. The gig bag is well made and I have used it to take my guitar here and there, but if you are serious about transporting your guitar to practice I recommend a hard case. The included guitar stand is very solid and sturdy; I never worry about setting the guitar on it.
The value is unbeatable. The guitar is built very well for the price tag and will last you through the beginner stage right up until you are ready to gig. The whole pack is great in terms of quality and value, especially for a beginner on a budget like me. I would recommend this set to anyone who wanted to learn electric guitar.

For the price, it's hard to beat. I had to set up the guitar after it had severe backbow upon arrival, but it played well after. The distortions aren't great with the amp, but it's good for the value.

Comments about SE Special Strat with Squier SP-10 Amp Value Pack:

I believed that it was a good purchase overall. But pretty disappointed by the poor quality low hight stand. It only supports the base not the neck. As a result, the guitar top keeps hitting my wall every time I put on stand. Very unhappy. They could simply charge some more but provided solid stand that hangs guitar by neck. My daughter struggles each time she puts on the stand. Now that it's a cheap item, I have to buy additional stand. Total waste of money.

It was not quite visible in the picture and I expected them included would be a solid stand since they advertise it as used and in good condition. It's deceptive and I never gonna buy from them again. Secondly, it came after Christmas which really, really upset me. I was expecting to jam on Christmas Eve and they betrayed me.

If you happened to see the same value pack, never buy. You will end up spending more than you spend selectively. It was my mistake I trusted them. The stand seems like they imagined the guitar player would be a 4 year old or something - sitting in front of the guitar and playing with index finger while it's still in the stand.

The worst thing is: they had a picture that had black guitar having white contrast, and what they sent me is a total 100% white and I hate it. Every time I see it, I feel my wallet draining so much painfully under my feet. I'm planning to give it away to a hermit - just the guitar. And I will put the amp on the street labeling "hey I still work - take me home". And surely I would throw the stand off from the Brooklyn Bridge so that nobody would have to use it ever!

Comments about SE Special Strat with Squier SP-10 Amp Value Pack:

This is a great looking guitar, and a great value for the money. I bought it for my daughter who wants to learn guitar. The guitar looks and feels like a higher priced model, but the sound is not the greatest. The included amp is pretty weak tone wise. I think this is okay for a child, but if your a little older you may be disappointed once you become a little proficient at playing. If you can afford it, I would suggest buying a higher priced model since I think a person could quickly become unhappy with the weak tone of this guitar and amp combo, especially the amp. Another option would be to eventually upgrade the pickups with some modest priced ones (which I may do), since the body of the guitar actually feels and plays pretty well. However, you will still need to get a better amp to get a good sound. To sum it up, this is a great low priced starter set, but you may out grow it quickly if you really start to become proficient at playing.

Comments about SE Special Strat with Squier SP-10 Amp Value Pack:

Purchase made on separate recommendations from 2 professional musicians. I wanted an inexpensive good quality instrument suitable for beginners. Fender Squier Strat was recommended for smaller hands because strings are fairly low without buzzing against frets and neck is not too big.
This product was also recommended for durability; kids can be rough on ANYthing. One recommendation came from a public school music teacher who buys these for her students. The other recommendation was from a gentleman who uses Fender Squier Strat(s) as his utility instrument to haul around- he plays country gospel music all over our region. He gave same reasons as the music teacher- low strings, small neck, durability, good quality and low price. Being a beginner I liked the package deal because it provided what I needed to start learning. I've had the instrument for a couple of weeks. I am pleased the product produces a variety of tones though I'm not yet sophisticated enough to exploit that variety. The included instructional DVD has been helpful so far, though. I will probably need more instruction from a real person.

I have been playing guitar for 3 years and this was my first electric guitar. When I opened the guitar every thing was well packaged and I started to assemble everything, THE WHAMMY BAR IS NOT A PULLY/PUSHY. You have to screw it in. Make sure not to screw it in to much because I did and the whammy bar broke. I will send it back but other than the whammy bar incident its a great guitar, great and every thing is awesome. I would totally recommend this guitar to any begginer electric guitar player just be careful with the whammy.

I got this guitar about five years ago when I was first learning how to play. I had already had a first act, so this was my first "real" guitar.

As a learning instrument, it was... Not TOO bad. It's a monstrosity to tune because the tuning pegs blow. They're way too sensitive. The pickup is also very bad, but Fender isn't really known for it's "expert" quality to begin with.

The guitar does, however, feel great in your hands. It's very comfortable, and it's also easy to learn. My only curve was that the strings are obnoxiously close together.

All together, not bad to learn with, but there's better out there.
