Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
I've had mine for a year and a half and it is still going strong. I replace the strings often and had it "setup" when it was new. No problems or issues at all. It is a great guitar to learn on and will grow with you as you become more refined with your skills.
This strat has similar or the same type features when compared to the more expensive Fender Strat models, obviously you will not be getting a professional musician's guitar, but since you are searching for a guitar in this price point-you most likely already know this. That said, it has all the standard features you would get if you bought a more expensive strat, but I stress the word "type" because the parts used to build this are the same type, but not the same kind, brand/and or quality used in more expensive models. However, this shoud not dissuade you from purchasing the product. Keep reading...
This model is has an Alder solid wood body and a Maple neck with Rosewood on the fretboard. This guiatar features a bolt on neck, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. The finish on this is excellent. So, what is the difference between this and the ones costing hundreds more? While the wood and materials are the same in most areas, the quality is where the two depart. More expensive models use AA/AAA grade wood, more time on the finish and usually professional type bridges, better pickguards, tremolos, tuners, some even use locking tuners. The coils used in this model are fine for this pricepoint, but again, the quality of the winding and less feedback of the single coils are better and readily apparent on the more expensive models. But the quality of finish and build of this model, rated at this price point right out of the box gets a seven.
I suggest replacing the strings and having the action and trussrod checked and/or adjusted at your local guitar shop. Do that and you have yourself an eight for sure-possibly a nine. Hard to beat the quality at this price.
An excellent value for a beginner, even an advanced player looking to make a quality inexpensive addition to his or her collection. Don't be silly and replace all the innards with a set of single coils that cost almost as much as the guitar did.
There is nothing wrong w that.if you are an advanced player that wants an economical upgrade without buying the axe...seriously... stop lying to yourself thinking if you replace the coils you will play and sound better. The people that know you already suck, will now know you still suck with the addition of minimal fret buzz and a Texas twang.
There is a reason why you sound awful. Do your family a favor, take the upgrade money and buy yourself some professional lessons. After that, if you would like to upgrade your parts, go for it. Personally, I would only upgrade with your favorite strings and a thirty dollar pickguard if so desired.
Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
If you are a beginner or hobbyist looking for something to play, it's a good guitar. I don't think I would debut this on stage (though a few times I have tried). With the right modifications, it could be even better so I would say go for it!
I bought this guitar from a music shop (cause it's all they had in left handed). I was disappointed that they had no fenders. I wasn't disappointed when I got it home. I play a lot of punk rock and this thing made my Relient K and blink 182 covers sound great. To add some beef to the palm muting, I tossed in a JB Jr. in the bridge. It was just as thick and full sounding as the Fender counterpart. It certainly didn't outplay it, but it could match it.
The material for the guitar is solid, but it's not my favorite. I think a true Fender could probably blow the quality of this guitar away. It IS a good quality guitar though.
If you're a lefty, and you want a strat and are low on cash...no better option.

I bought the LH , Sunburst, Affinity model. I already upgraded the strings to the ones the expensive models have. The next upgrade will be the pickups ( for a later date). Very happy with this purchase!!!!!!
This guitar is built SOLID!!!!. I checked the specs of the expensive version. This guitar is just as good. Don't let the name keep you from getting it. The sound is great, it looks great. This guitar is going to last.
For the money, this guitar should cost more. The one i got was perfect, nothing wrong! The finish was awesome.
Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
For a cheap guitar, it's really not half bad. Not really liking the one ply pickguard. Pickups are ok. Just ok. Don't sound as good as MIM pickups even, but I didn't think they would. Fit wise, everything looks good so far. It was made in 09 and I've had it a year or so. It's really not as bad as I had heard. Wouldn't hold tune, but I had some spare 18:1 Grovers from another guitar lying around I put on. I think with a few more little things, pots, trem block, saddles, it'll be a nice guitar. Certainly not up to MIM standards though. I've been at it 12 years and never had a Squier. It's a good guitar to take when you go on a trip. Like I said, it's not great, but not really terrible either. If you like classic rock, go for it. If you like heavier music, go with something else. I personally wouldn't put nice pickups in a sub $200 instrument, but that's me. When I put new pickups in my MIM, the old ones will go in here. It's really not all that bad. I've played worse cheap Strats.

I want to say that the affinity squier is Great.Very cool! Don't be put off by inexpensive Guitars. The Beatles had cheap guitars. The Hofner and Rickenbackers were very inexpensive for their time and look what the Beatles created with those babies. The Squier affinity series also has The Jaguar and The Jazzmaster. Unfortunately for me they are not available for the Lefty, yet.

I've just ordered my 3rd Squire. It is what it is and that's why I do not advise modifying the Squire Strat. I use mine for recording and for certain songs it's perfect as is. If I want a hotter sound I use my American Strat. For the money it's a great deal. Buy one, you'll like it.
Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
I am left handed so that cuts me out of the majority of guitar models I can purchase. I have a Les Paul and wanted the SG double cutaway also, then I needed single coil Strat tone to add to my collection, this guitar rocks for a low price! I am putting in a set of Texas Special Stevie Ray Vaughn Pickups! Everything else is perfect, really, total $307 for a great Strat! My custom Ricki cost me $5,000 because the company does not make lefties, this Strat is incredible for such a low price, it sceams good deal, thanks to Musician's Friend!
Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
I've only had this guitar for a few weeks now and have been thoroughly amazed at how well it plays. I got it from musicians friend for a steal (109) bucks. It was used but looked brand new. The frets are in nice shape as is the neck and all of the hardware works flawlessly. The only thing about this guitar that can be improved would be to upgrade the pickguard to a 3 ply. The one ply is cheap but gets the job done. I am in the process of installing a new duncan ssl 3 pickup and a tortoise 3 ply pickgaurd. I can't wait to play it with the mods done. All in all, fantastic guitar in every way! And you can customize it completely!!!!
Comments about Squier Stratocaster Left-Handed Electric Guitar:
My wife wanted to learn to play the guitar and she is left handed so I ordered this guitar for her out of a Musician's Friend sale catalog. I fully expected to have to do a lot of setup work on it - but I haven't touched it yet. It came set up with very nice action (no fret buzz), and it was nicely finished with no sharp fret ends. I've seen some very bad Squier guitars in the past but lately they have been making some great one's. I have 7 of them, not a bad one in the bunch. The Classic Vibe series is excellent.
