Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

as i said b fore. nothing is a 10 un less her voice is a higher pitch. the finish is great (tri color sun burst) my favorite. good hard ware. good tone. great neck. good feel. i've been playing for 50 yrs. i'm a dedicated strat player. Fender gets it right again with this one.
i only gave this guitar an 8 simpley because nothing is never a 10 IMO. there's always some thing left to b desired. this is my first gtr with S.D pups. so time will b the judge. but so far. good.
the workman ship on this guitar is very good. the chi coms don't even come close IMO. fret edges are very good for a change. the chi com gtrs will cut u. finish is superb. well balanced.
this may well b my main guitar for a while. i do have 2 or 3 much higher gtrs than this one. how ever, since i've gotten it, i just can't seem to put it down. excellent gtr for the money. great price.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

Being relatively new to the guitar scene I wasn't really sure what quality I would really get at this price point. I am very pleased with this instrument. It plays well, has good sustain, and has a great overall feel to it.
The reason I chose this guitar over the others was the ability to get both a strat sound as well as having a humbucker at the bridge. I love the versatility. The Charcoal Frost is beautiful.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I bought a level two open box to save some money. It looks perfect to me. No aspirations that I will ever be a professional, but quality seems apparent and set up was good out of the box. I bought this one because I wanted a humbucker. The tone from the pickups is very good. I am very happy with this product.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

This is my first electric guitar (I've played around with an acoustic for years but never seriously until now). For the price it sure feels and sounds nice. I wanted something that wasn't a toy but also wouldn't break the bank. I especially like the HSS pickup configuration because it offers a really broad range of sounds. It's beautiful, well-constructed, and sounds great on my little amp. A really excellent deal and the Customer Service folks were extraordinarily helpful. This was my second major purchase from Musicians Friend and in both cases I've been very happy with the product as well as the service.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I have played guitar to amuse myself, my friends, family, and sometimes my patients for about 50 years. About 10 years ago, I became interested in getting an electric guitar. After a cheap electric disappointment, I purchased the Vintage Modified Strat. Back then there were a lot of "Jerry Barton" types (see his review from 5/19/12) positively reviewing this guitar. Experienced players like that get my attention. They judge a guitar on its feel and sound, not on its name and price. For years I tried to replace my Squier with Mexican and American variants--I thought I needed Fender on the headstock. I finally found a good Mexican strat that worked well after I swapped pickups with the Squier. The Vint Mod Duncan Designed single coils are "stacked" and work similar to a humbucker to cancel out the noise typical of this type of pickup. Now pickup preference is very subjective, but I love these hum-free vintage-sounding single coils; especially since you can pump them up by adding in the moderately hot humbucker: Great tone combinations. The sound and feel of this guitar has colored all my subsequent electric guitar experiences. Not only do I recommend this guitar, I actually bought one and gave it to a friend.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because I used to own a Vintage Modified Telecaster and the build quality was much higher than I expected for their price. I wanted a Strat with a Humbucker in the Bridge position but my intentions were to replace the pickups and upgrade the hardware to customize the guitar to suit my needs. The fit and finish on this Strat is as good ,if not better than it was on the Tele. I was a little disappointed that the Humbucker didn't coil tap but the one I'll replace it with will. I also think Fender should offer this guitar in more than just 3 finish options. I also think they should offer this guitar with a maple fingerboard. I've been using this guitar for Small Venue live shows and it stays in tune very well, even when using the tremolo.
