    great guitar

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

only because the Fender india plant didn't finish out the frets
Buy it and be sure you can handle filing down the fret edges ...other than that get ready to rock...It sounds like an American Tele at least that what everyone says....It is a great sound that you can get out of this...this guitar will surprise.....I sure was......now my go to guitar for playing live above my Strat, Les Paul and my ES339 ...You can get real twang out of it.....and it is a really fast neck..
BUY IT and take it to be set up and you will still save money and get a good sounding guitar. This India made guitar rocks......and handles jazz, country, blues and about anything with aplomb.

    I knew it!

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

Yep,it's pedroyyz again. Now that I have had this Black Vintage Modified (VM) SH Tele for a few months, I DO definitely LOVE IT. I thought I'd never love a guitar more than my White Squier VM SSH Tele, but, I seriously think I love this at least as much or more (the more would be the looks!) The neck is the same, beautiful, so nice to play, glossy finish...I like these Indian necks better than any other Squier, Fender MIM, and as good or better than any American Tele I have played. Now, about the pick ups...thought I might change them out at first, but now I'm thinking WHY? I think they sound really good (I go through a Fender Blues JR. and a VOX Tonelab ST). The only things I had done this time were 1. a bone nut installed, 2. professional set up, and 3. I changed the black knobs to chrome domes. I can't say enough...I have no idea why a certain national guitar shop, that shall remain nameless here, doesn't stock these for people to try out. I think they would fly of the racks faster than Classic Vibes. Anyway, I'm two for two. Ordered two Teles now from India (VMs) and am more than doubly blessed!

    Love the Indian Teles

    By PSONeal

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

Just got my SH...I know I will love it as soon as I get it set up and a bone nut installed (And ACTUAL strings that are worth anything put on!). The pups seem OK, good enough for now. I love the necks on these Indian Teles. I also enjoy the feel and tone (I also have an SSH, which also needed some mods). Yeah, they are definitely a great value, for the price they are wonderful! Just go into it knowing that they'll need a couple modifications.... AT LEAST work done on the intonation. The people at the factory don't have a clue about setting a guitar up properly. I would still recommend the gits...I've had my SSH for almost 3 years and absolutely LOVE it.My new SH will soon be the new joy of my life after it's been to the git doctor!

    Old School Jazz Telecaster

    By ERod1944

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar for use in my Jazz Guitar Studies. I wanted an inexpensive, hassle-free guitar that produces a warm, glassy, pure jazz tone . The Squier VM Tele SH turned out to be a great choice. The guitar did arrive from on-line with sharp fret edges but the rest of the guitar is very pretty. I had the frets filed, put some DAdderio 11 Chrome -flats and the result is a very pure jazz tone on the neck pickup. The neck is comfortable, very accurate and the guitar is stable. It's very odd to not get AC hum when lowering the volume on the neck pickup of a Tele but it's got a humbucker and provides zero hum. The neck pickup is very balanced and makes for playing dissonant chords very enjoyable. The unwound B & E strings sound very fat. For my use, there's no point in updating the pickups. Obviously, there's no feedback like you would find on a hollow jazz guitar. I'm using the tone control in the compressor section of a Boss ME70 and a 100w solid-state combo. The combination gets a very pure, warm sound. It produces nice, full octaves. It's a wonderful guitar that just happens to be inexpensive. I've been a guitar player for about 45 years and look forward to displaying the "Squier" name while playing in public. Should be fun.

    Great sounds, great value!

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

Been looking at tele's to purchase one for a while, but prices kept me looking...until. Who would think that a Squire built in India could sound and play sooo good. A/B'd it with an American Std. Teles and Mexican Teles?sounded as good and in some cases better. Once I did this, I was convinced that I had to get it and take it home. Needed to file down the sharp edges on the frets, adjust the pickup height to even the volume between pickups. Only complaint is the usable, but not super tuners (but that can be changed easy and for little $$). Brought it into rehearsal and everyone marveled at the tone from this thing. Used it at the next gig and reviewed a recording of the performance?nice sound! If you want a great playing and versatile tele for a budget price, this is it.

WOW is all I can say! This piece of wood is worth its weight in GOLD! I had two friends play it yesterday whom can play and they agree that I stole it. It has a unique sound of its own yet can play ANYTHING! Really, ANYTHING! This guitar plays and sounds better than all of them! It can keep up with the big boys that cost into the tens of thousands! No kidding! Oh, and I am still using the original strings. Just imagine new ones! Absolutely nothing can beat this one! THANK YOU FENDER!! GREAT PIECE OF WORK! WOW WOW WOW!

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster SH Electric Guitar:

As a guitar player for the last 45 years, this newest model of the Telecaster has just floored me. Being made in India, I didn't expect much. But the quality, workmanship, and performance of this guitar is exceptional. I would easily compareit with an American Standard. For the money, this guitar cannot be matched. Thanks Fender

Just received the tele yesterday and let me tell you....First REPLACE the strings and suddenly you will have SWEET SOUNDS! Have the fret ends filed to smooth it out and set up! WALLAH, now you have a guitar that can keep up with the big boys. All for about 1/5 the cost. Great job SQUIRE on this one!
