The Steinberger Synapse SS-2F Electric Guitar uses cybrosonic technology to combine the rigidity, strength, clarity, and definition of graphite with the warmth and beauty of wood. The 3-piece hard maple neck has a graphite U-channel and truss rod producing an adjustable neck that's extremely stable.
Low-impedance EMG USA humbuckers offer a broader bandwidth for unique and robust tone and are mounted on stabilizers that keep them from tilting.
Improved intonation from a zero fret. Unique Steinberger Combo headpiece improves balance, ease of tuning, and tuning stability while the patented Direct-Drive double-ball bridge lets you change strings in seconds then tune up once and not have to tune again until you change strings.
Fold down leg rest and strap hook provide comfort standing or sitting.

Purchased the steinberger as a travel guitar but was disappointed that a quality defect on the one I received was not detected at the assembly factory. These guitars accept both standard strings and double ball strings. The neck piece for the standard strings was missing one of the cogs and therefore would only take 5 strings. It was very easy to spot once I opened the box. Not sure how the assembly plant could overlook such a major defect. I contacted Gibson Guitars and they finally sent me a replacement headpiece. The guitar still needs a professional setup as some strings buzz. I would sent it back but it is Oct before anymore are available. I still a few weeks to decide if I want to return it for credit.

I am a professional bass player, and also play a little guitar, I set up all my guitars and basses. I've always wanted to own this original Stenberger guitar ( I have a copy made by Hofner ), but the price was too high for me to consider, this guitar was a restock and the price was acceptable so I ordered it. To make the story short, you have to be extra careful when setting the intonation and the string height at the bridge, the adjusment crew is very easy to strip, this is what happened to my guitar, I have to return it, the neck is a little fat, other then that, I would still recommend it.

This guitar is very well made and solid. It is fun to play and I really like that it does not feel top heavy as some guitars tend to be. Action is very good and I value the fact that the guitar is very easily customizable as far as setup. The guitar is very good looking also. You'll love it !

I have owned a GM4T original Steinberger since the late 80s. I was very skeptical about what I was going to receive after ordering an alpine white ss2f. Once I unpacked, tuned and played, I am very impressed. The quality, sound and feel are as good as my origional and more. I had to adjust the action which is now a snap with the new bridge. Think I will buy a black one as well.

This is a great guitar overall; I purchased the guitar because of the cool ergonomic design but the added bonus includes that it is lightweight and a great guitar to travel with!!!

Sound is marvelous, build quality is excellent, finish is near perfect. Exceptional value. Great travel guitar, took it on the plane with no problem. Minus 0.5 point for the features for not having a tremolo though.
