i think this guitar is very nice. in that price , you can get a quite high quality guitar. the unsymmetric neck is awesome, very comfortable neck. the 3 way switch is so good too, right position. and it's equipped with john petrucci musicman dome knobs too, it makes the guitar is more like the jp6 musicman guitar. but the things that i don't like is, it's not dimarzio, and i have a little problem with the locking tuners. that's all

- Good Pick Up

- Locking Tuners
- Non Locking Tremolo

- Solid Electronics
Cons

Comments about Sterling by Music Man JP60 John Petrucci Signature Electric Guitar:
I got this guitar because I am a huge Petrucci fan on a budget. I'm not rich enough to afford the full blown Music Man JP6, so I am glad they came out with Sterling. This is by far the best guitar that I own. It has a slender thin U neck which is very fast and a nice Soloist style body with a forearm scoop. I wish it came with DiMarzio pickups, but that's really my only complaint. I can get those later. You can't tell from the picture, but the paint on the black model has metallic flake which is beautiful. I highly recommend this guitar.

If you like the JP style body without the need of fancy electronics.
Two things that had me decide to get this guitar, first the finish quality (i have the metallic black finish) and playability/grade of wood used. the body very resonant, pickups are percussive at start but you can adjust the pole pieces to raise the mids a bit
I have to give it an 8 here because of some hardware issues i encountered.
The frets were kind of rough feeling initially you can either use a burnisher(preferred) or fine grade steel wool, and polish it with a rotary tool.
the high-e saddle after intonating it would touch the pivot and cause the saddle screw to pop-out and cause tuning problems for the high-e
this was fix'd with the help of Sterling Support..and they support their products like it was a guitar that cost twice the money
its a simple guitar but having that reactive support adds great value to the product

If you looknig for another guitar, get this, its one of the best I've played. Everthing was good about it, no complaints what so ever.
Has a great feel, very comfortable to play, Theres this awesome scoope on the front of the body that the arm rests on, when playing and its super comfortable, the guitar is very well balanced, If I remeber correctly the guitar did feel a little heavy, but for that tone it's worth it. The cut away is amazing, wish my main's was a great. This would be one of very few 6 strings (one of the best 6 strings I've played) I would buy. I much perfer extended range guitars,(7's) but I absolutely love this thing.
Great guitar, I would recomend it to anybody looking for a great 6 string on a limited budget.
For the price, it doesnt get much nicer, I would highly recomend this guitar!
