I recently purchased this guitar for my wife. She is a quick learning beginner, and I wanted to get her something to grow into. The guitar is small and easy to play, but it doesn't have a small sound. It has a warm, smooth sound with plenty of bottom and an evenness to the tone that's hard to find in even much more expensive guitars. The CT4B preamp sounds excellent and is easy to use. Built in tuner is very useful. The craftsmanship is great. It plays and sounds great. Great guitar. I like it better than my FP350SMSBC . I really can't rave about it enough. If you're looking for a smaller guitar, look no further. In fact, if you're looking for ANY guitar, it's worth checking out. You will love it!

I bought the EF740SGN for a great price at my local shop. I was searching for an ac/el guitar that was comfortable to play and different looking. The satin antique finish is absolutely beautiful! And because of the OM body shape it is comfortable and easy to play. The onboard electronics make it a sinch to tune or perform with. It comes with a durable, brown hardshell case which makes it very easy to take to gigs or practice. This guitar is deffinitly worth thinking about if you are comntemplating Martins or Taylors of the same shape and wood. And because it's ac/el and comes with a case, it is a great value!

I already own a AN10c all natural non-electric takamine acoutic. Because of the quality of the AN10C I decided to trade my carvin off for another Takamine.I picked up a EF740SGN. The guitar is simply amazing!! The body is a OM body, slightly smaller than a OOO. The guitar BOOMS. Very loud for its size yet amazingly balanced, the action is perfect. It is the easiest guitar to play I've ever touched. This is a GREAT guitar to sing along with and I look forward to using it at church.I really don't see anything that would HAVE to be replaced. I may replace the bridge pins but only "just because" nothing wrong with the stock ones.

I love the guitar, I have a AN10C. and it is so nice I decided to trade my carvin acoutic for another Takamine. I got a EF740SGN. I LOVE IT!!Very balanced sound, great to sing along with yet VERY loud and clear.I look forward to using it at church.. simply great guitar. Great action, great setup, the only part I "may" replace is the bridge pins but only because I want to.. they seem fine and don't NEED replaced.
