Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This G series is what I expected from the Tak. A clear, full dreadnought sound at a good price. I've played their higher-grade instruments and if you simply take the blind play/sound test, there isn't a lot of difference. Tak. has obviously created a good Quality Assurance and Quality Control model for creating these guitars in China. No complaints; great fit and finish. Bought my first Tak. in '73. I walked into a music store and started picking up and playing without regard to label. The Tak had the best sound in the store. I was prepared at the time to pay what ever the price for it. That guitar would sell in today's dollars for 2000, which was a good deal at the time. Now for 1/4 that you can have a comparable guitar.
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I had been toying with buying an acoustic for a while, so I did my research and found this gem: a beautiful black dreadnought that's easy to play and has a full, rich tone that keeps me coming back for more. This is the first acoustic guitar I've owned, but I've played several over my lifetime and I can tell you that this is one of the best if not THE best I've ever held in my hands. I fell in love with it right out of the box and didn't put it down for hours - it's that great. It's hard to believe I could have gotten a better guitar at this price. You know that feeling you get when you buy a guitar and you KNOW you'll have it for life? I felt that as soon as I started playing it.
Electronics seem top notch and the onboard tuner is fantastic. Input jack seems like it will hold up over time.
I'm giving this a 9 only because there is a bit of fret buzz at times, but to be fair I haven't even changed the strings yet or made any adjustments to the neck. But the feel of the guitar itself is solid and it stays in tune no matter how much I beat on it. And the tone.....wow. Full-bodied, shimmering goodness. Great finish and binding, just perfect.
I feel like I've been undercharged and that I should send Musician's Friend some money.
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I own 23 guitars including several Taylors and Martin. With several high dollar quality instruments at home I have a daily opportunity to play any guitar in my collection. Almost without exception (90% of the time) I pick up my Takamine EG341SC whenever I want to play (daily). For the price, I rate it as the best value guitar I have seen. It has great clarity and a neck that is comfortable and fast. This guitar is about 5 years old and is starting to really come into its own as it loosens up and comes alive. It chimes with sweet balanced brilliance and long lasting sustain. It can be gentle and sweet sounding or gritty and bluesy. It projects better than any guitar triple its price. Buy it and fall in love with its quality craftsmanship and know that it will just keep getting better and better with time and use. I rate it the best value out there.
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I've had this guitar since April and I ain't gonna get rid of it. It's ridiculously loud and clear! My father who's been playing since 76 says he got a rush while playing it as do I. It's such an undereated guit I've played next to martins, and mines brighter and louder so you be the judge! Try it Buy it!
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
i bought this axe earlier this month n i definitely don't regret it!! great action, exquisite clarity, resonance and i must mention the clarity of the bass strings.. on board tuner is quite accurate and plugged or unplugged, this axe rocks!!definitely a steal of a deal for a solid top dreadnought.. well done takamine!!
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I own one of these and I have compared it with the Martin and Taylor and it does not compare in workmanship or sound quality, but in price and features in terms of electronics it blows the Taylor out of the water and is a little better priced than the Martin. This is a good guitar lacking the Martin bass and the clarity of the Taylor. But this instrument is very playable.
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I've owned this guitar for almost a year and of all lower price ranged guitars, this is absolutely the best. Great sound plugged and unplugged. When I bring it to jam with my friends, I never see it! Its always being passed around and fought over between my friends.
Comments about Takamine EG341SC Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is my first acoustic electric guitar and I was not disappointed! Action is perfect...the tone is bright and loud...and the beauty of the guitar is great! I played a Taylor and this guitar and liked this one better than the Taylor. Worth its weight in gold!!
