Big 12-string sound for a little price.

The 12-string Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C Acoustic-Electric Guitar has the characteristc broad top and deep body that create a large resonant air chamber that emphasizes bass response and produces luscious full sound.

The EG345C Takamine 12-string excels in ensemble playing and is heavily favored by flatpicking players. The cutaway provides plenty of range and comfort when accessing the upper-register frets. The guitar's lamminate spruce top offers balanced tone, while the mahogany body brings out plenty of clear, full-sounding volume and depth. The Takamine G dreadnought's dovetail neck joint, rosewood bridge and fretboard, and mahogany neck offer plenty of sustain, while the asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.

At the heart of the Takamine EG345C 12-string is an impressive electronics system amplifying your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The guitar's CP-100 pickup is innovatively designed with a U-shaped aluminum rail securing the pickup and saddle for a snug fit and balanced response from the entire guitar—not just pressure from the strings.

The G dreadnought EG345C's gold hardware, gold tuners, and gloss finish add a striking touch to this already beautiful Takamine 12-string guitar.

TP4T Preamp Features
The TakamineTP4T preamp found on G-Series guitars features a gain knob, a tuner, an active shelving system EQ with bass, middle, and treble frequency slider controls, and a low battery light. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard mono instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable switches the preamplifier off. The TP4T Preamplifier is powered by a single 9 volt battery.

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is well worth the money. It's a step up from my 1998 Jasmine ES312. The D'Addario strings that it came with are not my favorite but after slapping some Ernie Ball custom light 9's on it I'm happy. It has a full, rich sound even through the cheap electronics. Mine came with a few freaky looking small black paint marks on the wood near the pick guard but it's not that noticeable. I can live with it. I have to give MFI some props for exchanging the first one they sent me that had a chipped head stock. The hassle of sending it back and waiting for a new one was worth it. Even with the small imperfections on the new one they sent. Overall I would recommend this guitar to anyone on a budget not afraid to purchase a guitar made in China.

    Exceeded My Expectations!

    Pros

    • Great sound
    • QUALITY WORKMANSHIP

    Cons

    • No Upper Strap Peg

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am very satisfied with this purchase. I loved the quality of the finish and workmanship, but I was even more impressed with the rich sound and the electronics are user friendly. The built-in tuner is a must for a great 12 string sound. I found the playability and action to be better than many other more expensive guitars I tried.

The only negatives I can think of is that there is no strap peg on the upper body, however, the guitar is a little unbalanced unless you use a strap that goes all the way to the headstock, so maybe that's the reason.

All in all, I think this is a great instrument for the money. Having not been able to try before I bought, I took a chance because of the Takamine reputation, and I couldn't be happier with it!

    Excellent Guitar!

    By Michael Sullivan

    from Spokane, Wa.

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I highly recommend this guitar if you want a very full broad spectrum of tone and not a thinned out sound many 12 strings give you any much more money.
This guitar has all the features I need. The preamp is nice with built in tuner and 3 band eq. Gold hardware always look nice on clear coat guitars.
They done a fine job on the one I received. Flawless finish! Fret job is nicely done as well. Even the edges!
For this kind of money to get this good a tone. Absolutely worth every penny.

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Outstanding instrument. I use it for both performances and just relaxing after a hard day.
Brought the Takamine 12 about two months ago. Just can't put it down. Love playing it. Sound is robust and full both unplugged and plugged. Action is soft and easy on the hand. I'm in love with this one.

    Great 12-string

    By jmast401

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought my Takamine EG345c recently, totally pleased with it! Action is excellent, mine was already set up, actually plays like a 6 string, not hard on the fingers. The built in electronics are great on the volume. I've had several compliments from fellow guitarists about my new 12-string. Played better than a 1,0000 dollar equivalent I tried!

    Nice Volume

    Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG345C 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

A nice 12 string with Takamine quality built in. This guitar has much volume unplugged. When amplified, there was some unwanted feedback so I installed an O Port which fixed that. Neck is solid and straight right out of the box. I feel no need to set up this guitar yet for it is quite playable. At $400 it is worth it.
