Great tonewoods and amazing electronics on Taylor’s most popular body.

Providing access to the upper registers of the fingerboard, the soft Venetian cutaway on the Taylor 2012 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar is both practical and attractive, while the Taylor Expression System™ allows you to share your music with the world.

Ovangkol/Sitka
Ovangkol back and sides lend exotic flare to the Taylor 410ce Acoustic-Electric with a tone many find reminiscent of rosewood. The sitka spruce top gives a punch to the tone, together they create a rich tonal tapestry.

Grand Auditorium (GA)
The GA is Taylor’s most versatile and popular shape, excelling at light-touch fingerstyle and strumming. Great for mic’ing and recording, the GA’s balanced mid-range and bright tone exemplify the Taylor voice.

Expression System®
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System® amplifies your guitar with a natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally-clean amplified sound. It’s your tone, amplified.

Comments about Taylor 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought this for me for a retirement gift. My wife bought me a Taylor 30 years ago and it is still used for jamming. I wanted a cutaway and this was the perfect guitar for my needs. Hard to put it down now that I have time to play it. Can't go wrong - everything out of the box was perfect.

        Don't believe the taylor hype

Comments about Taylor 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these new and played half the first set with it at a gig. It sounds great unplugged, but the es system is junk, and plugged in it is not good at all. For the money, a yamaha or martin at less than half the cost is a much better buy. [@]. These guitars are mass produced on cnc machines, and though they are pretty well made, why no strap button on the front end? Go back to fishman and these guitars could sound good again.

Ovangkol sounds great and looks amazing

Comments about Taylor 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Loved it out of the box. Wood looks amazing under the satin finish. Craftsmanship seems top notch and the I've heard the Taylor Customer service is top notch, but with the way this guitar is built I dont forsee having lots of problems. Unplugged, sounds amazing. I like finger picking to John Mayer and it sounds amazing. The guitar rings for days and the wood isn't even aged yet. Plugged, you can surprisingly get a wide range of sounds out of the expression system considering you have two tone control knobs and one volume. Highly recommend it.

Comments about Taylor 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is an excellent guitar. The craftsmanship is top notch. I play different styles of music from blues to rock, folk to country....whatever I feel at the time. This is an all-around good instrument for both strumming and fingerpicking. The case that comes with it is also excellent, the guitar fits like a glove in it and the accessory portion is quite large as well. If you have the cash, I would definitely reccomend this guitar. I also own a GS Mini, you can't go wrong with Taylor products.

        All my hopes and dreams

        By Robert Sharpe

        from Montana

Comments about Taylor 414ce Ovangkol/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a serious piece of work. The feel of it is just smooth...and of course buying online is always unsettling not knowing how the guitar actually feels. But I was not dissapointed in the least bit. I can't put the dang thing down. I do keep my room humidified at 55-60% to maintain long life. And my only complaint is a small amount of fret buzz when barring the chords while its detuned (primarily top string). Other than that, plays like a dream.
