I've played this guitar numerous times and am always amazed. I've played it at my church, at Home Group Gatherings,(it's where some people from my church get together and eat, fellowship, and obviously, play the guitar and 2 or 3 people will sing. At times, we'll have three or even four guitars going..! It's awsome, and so is this guitar. I suggest it to anyone who wants quality, great tone, and a sound-chamber that can do very light, to VERY AGGRESSIVE strumming.
I love this guitar! Mine came with an I-beam installed. (kinda boomy...) but otherwise perfect tone. I didn't realize how much my old guitars were holding me back. I love to practice everyday now!
I bought this new from a dealer in Palo Alto, CA. It's sound is UNBEATABLE and its quality is UNMATCHABLE. I had a Highlander pickup installed in this (through the strap peg) - the perfect complement to it in amplification. There is no other guitar, for the price, that you'd be more happy with than the Taylor 415.
The quality of the 415 is perfect. You won't find any flaws w/ it. The sound is full and bright (depending on the strings of course!). The playability isn't spectacular due to the higher gauge strings, but that comes w/ the territory if you want a jumbo guitar. For the cost, this is one of the best guitars you can purchase. If you want a gloss body, then this guitar might not be for you. The back and sides of this guitar look dull, but that doesn't change what's important, which is excellent quality, tone, and value.
I've had this guitar for about 6 years now, and would honestly recommend it to anyone who likes clear, full tones. It's got the highs Taylors are famous for and the jumbo body keeps the bottom full. I keep picking up guitars costing over twice as much, but nothing has sounded better yet!
I bought the 415-L7 which has the Indian Rosewood back and sides and I am completely floored. I played a regular 415 before I bought the limited edition, and was about to purchase it until the salesman told me about the L7. Worth every pennie, I felt like I was ripping the store off!
