The Taylor 2012 K20ce Koa Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a member of the Koa Series® of acoustic-electric guitars. This series offers a variety of body sizes, all with koa back and sides, and a choice of Sitka Spruce or Hawaiian Koa for the top. Each guitar presents an exotic feast of figure, color and sound. Each Koa Series Acoustic/ Electric is performance-ready, with a Venetian cutaway and Taylor’s Expression System® electronics. The K20ce features a Hawaiian Koa Dreadnought body and top.
Hawaiian Koa’s captivating beauty is matched by a tone that blossoms over time, especially in the midrange. Its voice is bright and focused, with warm overtones that slowly emerge, adding sweetness and depth. Premium all-wood appointments, led by the Tropical Vine fretboard inlay, celebrate the wood’s natural appeal.
Koa is among the most striking of all tonewoods — beautiful, distinctive tone, and yet, at times, so elusive. Producing the Koa Series is driven entirely by Taylor's ability to procure a consistent, quality-grade supply. Lately, they’ve been able to acquire some of the nicest koa available in a long, long time.
After a several-year hiatus, the Koa Series makes an impressive return, this time in both the Acoustic and Acoustic/Electric lines. Look for beautifully figured koa backs, sides, and optional tops. The dramatic maple binding on the Acoustic/Electrics complements the undulating koa in its own unique way.

The Expression System (ES) is an all-magnetic acoustic guitar pickup system that works like a microphone to produce a pure signal and a warm, natural acoustic sound. When you plug in, you'll hear the sound of your guitar, not the sound of the pickup. No complicated controls. No tone simulators.
