Traveler EG-1 - Great for camping

| Review By: Steven Williams | 1 month, 1 week ago

Features:

Compact size makes it easy to transport and easy to store.

Quality:

No issues so far.  Fit and finish are great.  No problems with it staying in tune.

Value:

A decent guitar; a great value when you can get it on sale.

Overall:

The EG-1 is great for taking on trips, especially camping.  The compact size fits well in campers with limited storage.  The headphone amp is great for playing outside without drawing attention, or for practicing while everyone is still asleep.  I can also plug the headphone out into the Aux In on my stereo, for those times when I want to make some noise.  The EG-1 strap buttons are in traditional locations, and it handles much more like a standard guitar when using a strap.  I also use it with my VOX amPlug, which gives me a totally different sound.

Features:

This guitar is great.  Very well made and attractive as well.  With a busy life it was grtting so hard for me to practice my guitar.  I purchased this so that I could practice in my vehicle during lunch at work.  It is excellent for that because of th size and quality.  The preamp really helps you grt into your practice and start rockin'.  I would like to get the bass Traveler guitar as well.  These Travel guitars will work for gigs as well, believe me.

Quality:

Excellent

Value:

This guitar isn't a toy.  It's the real deal.  I would have to say it has great value and will continue to have greater value.

Overall:

Built very well.

New Purchase - Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar

| Review By: JACK FULLER | 3 months, 1 week ago

Features:

Great little guitar for the money. A good guitar for airports and cruises. Small and light for easy travel. Tune "pegs" easy to use.

Quality:

Very good finish, nicely put together.

Value:

Excellent value for the price. I was expecting a lot less.

Overall:

Looks good and plays well. Nice compact size, looks like a mini-gibson. Meets most everything I was looking for in a small travel package. I like the fact that you can use headphones and an MP3 together or play through my Fender Hotrod amp. The only drawback I have found so far is the need to tune regularly. Not from tune to tune, but often.

Could be better

Let's start with features: the built-in headphone amp is by far the coolest feature you could include in a guitar! Every guitar should have this! I can be playing in a bus (which I have) playing Led Zeppelin (with the incredibly sexy built in distortion) and switch all of a sudden to a clean clean Fender funk rhythm. Also, The included gig-bag is very good quality and probably your second best buddy after you get this guitar. The headphones aren't very good, but it's not like you don't already own headphones already... Quality is a four simply because the tuners are of bad quality. They seem to despise bends and extended play. Value could be better, as it is on the pricier side (especially since it has a big "MADE IN CHINA" sticker on the back), thought I am pleasantly surprised at the good overall assembly and finish of the guitar for being MIC. The reason why I got it over an entry level Epiphone was because a) I travel a lot between college and home, and b) you save yourself the added cost of having to buy an amp and a case/gig-bag. Overall is a 4 mostly because of how annoying it is to have to re-tune every 30 minutes, and the significant difference in comfort when sitting down with this and a proper strat. But the good far outshines the bad, its a great deal, the neck is lightning fast, it's very fun to play, and the versatility and practical size are just amazing!

This is a great guitar, travel or not! I splurged and bought a vintage Strat.....but hate to take it many places and leave it in my car etc. So I bought this so I would always have something to play.  Outstanding all around intstrument. Action is great. Full size neck does indeed make you forget you are playing a travel guitar. 5 out of 5. Worth every penny.
