I love everything about this guitar. Sometimes my band plays in tight areas so the compact "traveler" size really helps. I'm still getting used to the tuners. I still find myself reaching out for the tuners on the headstock... or lack there of, haha! But its a plus because it lessens the likelihood of it going out of tune while its in the gig bag. I did have to adjust the truss rod and bridge to my liking but the intonation was damn near perfect out of the box. Changing the strings was a different experience, but i think I actually found it easier to do. Playing directly through headphones is great! I just wish there was some kind of reverb when playing in Clean but its still cool. I did find something out though. With the lack of a headstock, the sustain was quite short, but i didn't realize this until I clamped my kyser capo at the end of the neck (because I needed a place to put it, hah). Now the capo acts as a sustain enhancer and it totally enhances the sustain and overall sound of the guitar. If you have this guitar already, Try It! I am 100% satisfied with this guitar and it gets WAY more play time than my American Strat. or ANY of my guitars for that matter.

Finally Found Travel Nirvana

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

I'll keep this short, everyone else here agree's I think, this is am amazing travel guitar, why, because its an amazing guitar in its own right. Finally I can travel, and take an electric guitar thats portable, easy to carry, sounds great, looks great, and plays as well as any of the great guitars out there. Thats the real ticket, quality, and playability. This guitar nails it for a travel guitar. I initially was worried about the price, which I still think is a bit to high, but after recieving the guitar, that thought has faded. I'm thrilled. In the passive mode, the pick-up sounds great. Switch the pre-amp on, as if you were going to use the headphones, and it sweetly overdrives your amp(Micro Cube,Packs easily). You get what you pay for here. The rest are toys, my Ibanaz mini wasn't bad, but nothing beats a full scale full size/scale neck to travel with. Tuners are great, paint job is amazing.....!!!!!!!!!

It's All That!

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar, travel or not! I splurged and bought a vintage Strat.....but hate to take it many places and leave it in my car etc. So I bought this so I would always have something to play. Outstanding all around intstrument. Action is great. Full size neck does indeed make you forget you are playing a travel guitar. 5 out of 5. Worth every penny.

Can't fault it

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

The title says it all...I travel for business and have taken this thing everywhere. As others have stated, it plays and feels like a full size guitar - and a pretty good one at that. Even the bag has been thought through - good padding, comfortable to carry, external pockets for picks, strings, etc.

Could be better

By TheMan-x53kt

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

Let's start with features: the built-in headphone amp is by far the coolest feature you could include in a guitar! Every guitar should have this! I can be playing in a bus (which I have) playing Led Zeppelin (with the incredibly sexy built in distortion) and switch all of a sudden to a clean clean Fender funk rhythm. Also, The included gig-bag is very good quality and probably your second best buddy after you get this guitar. The headphones aren't very good, but it's not like you don't already own headphones already...Quality is a four simply because the tuners are of bad quality. They seem to despise bends and extended play.Value could be better, as it is on the pricier side (especially since it has a big "MADE IN CHINA" sticker on the back), thought I am pleasantly surprised at the good overall assembly and finish of the guitar for being MIC. The reason why I got it over an entry level Epiphone was because a) I travel a lot between college and home, and b) you save yourself the added cost of having to buy an amp and a case/gig-bag.Overall is a 4 mostly because of how annoying it is to have to re-tune every 30 minutes, and the significant difference in comfort when sitting down with this and a proper strat. But the good far outshines the bad, its a great deal, the neck is lightning fast, it's very fun to play, and the versatility and practical size are just amazing!

This is a great practice guitar. It is small enough to fit in most suitcases. It plays very well. It was a little awkward having no headstock. A built-in tuner would be a great addition.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

Finally! A travel guitar that doesn't feel like a toy. I tried the Speedster but that wasn't quite my style, although it is a pretty neat guitar. After returning it because it was a floor model and had some dings on it when I bought it, I ordered the Escape EG1 and had it within a few days. Upon getting it unpacked, I was immediately impressed with how well it looked, and I'm pretty picky. The finish is beautiful,it was clean, flawless, and set up really well. It feels a little heavier than the Speedster, but, you don't have to screw it together, either. After a quick tuning I was off and playing. Like I said, the set up was right on and although they give you a truss rod tool, after about 2 months, I have yet to use it. The headphones that come with it are kind of big, but thats easy enough to get around, any pod type headphones will work. It sounds really good playing through the Pocket Rock-It or an amp, the tone and volume knobs have a lot of range and with the clean and distortion switch and good quality humbucker, makes it a truly self contained unit (if you really want some versatility, get a Pandora). Everything you need to be truly mobile fits right in the gig bag (which is also very nice, I might add) I even have room for extra strings, my Pandora, capo, cables, strap, etc.. The neck is pretty hefty but it plays very well and is pretty high quality and great finish. No matter how you like your set up, the truss rod along with the fully adjustable bridge should be able to accomidate you. I tend to look for things that I will have for a long time when I shop but didn't think it was likely with a travel guitar. I think I was wrong. I highly recommend this guitar if you are even considering something like this, if I lost this one today...I would be ordering another one tomorrow. This is a really nice guitar to have around, no matter what you like to play.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

Built very well.
This guitar is great. Very well made and attractive as well. With a busy life it was grtting so hard for me to practice my guitar. I purchased this so that I could practice in my vehicle during lunch at work. It is excellent for that because of th size and quality. The preamp really helps you grt into your practice and start rockin'. I would like to get the bass Traveler guitar as well. These Travel guitars will work for gigs as well, believe me.
Excellent
This guitar isn't a toy. It's the real deal. I would have to say it has great value and will continue to have greater value.

Traveler EG-1 - Great for camping

By Steven Williams

from Illinois

Comments about Traveler Guitar Escape EG-1 Travel Electric Guitar:

The EG-1 is great for taking on trips, especially camping. The compact size fits well in campers with limited storage. The headphone amp is great for playing outside without drawing attention, or for practicing while everyone is still asleep. I can also plug the headphone out into the Aux In on my stereo, for those times when I want to make some noise. The EG-1 strap buttons are in traditional locations, and it handles much more like a standard guitar when using a strap. I also use it with my VOX amPlug, which gives me a totally different sound.
Compact size makes it easy to transport and easy to store.
No issues so far. Fit and finish are great. No problems with it staying in tune.
A decent guitar; a great value when you can get it on sale.
