I got my Traveler when they first came out. The stethophone hurts my ears (due to pressure not volume). The electronics have got a few crackles and pops due to wiggly wires and the plastic ring around the pickup has a piece that cracked and broke off (still works fine tho). BUT I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if something happened to mine. The full scale/string length is one of a kind for an axe that is so small and plays great. It is truely a God-Send for guitar players that travel. I do electronic repairs on ships and have taken my Traveler guitar around the world with me 3 times (and all over the US). Airport security always asks what it is, they're amazed and I've never had a problem carrying it. Highly recommended!

I bought this guitar while traveling in the US. Worked great.

After returning home I finally plugged it in to an amp to discover that the 1/4" output jack doesn't work. Although there is a licensed distributor and repair dealer in the country I live, Travel Guitar is unwilling to pick up the cost of repair and have asked me to ship it back to the US - which would cost me enough to be prohibitive. Yeah, the repair isn't complicated and I can easily get it done, but it would be nice to have Travel Guitar stand by the quality of their products. The guitar was 1 week old by the time I returned home.

It's the principle of it.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you want to teach your 10 year old child guitar, this is a FANTASTIC small guitar to teach a serious young learner. The action is low and very easy to play for weak fingers. Know your child, though, my 10 year old is responsible enough not to carelessly knock it around. I also play both ukulele and guitar. I rarely get any practice because I have to shlep both instruments. With this nifty travel guitar, I can just bring one small instrument. I simply capo the 5th fret and whammo, it's a ukulele (just use the bottom 4 strings). I can sit shotgun passenger seat and the neck does not hit the driver. I can play now both ukulele and guitar in the shotgun passenger seat. MIND BLOWN. Stays in tune. Extremely modular to fit lots of different configurations (lap rest, arm rest, or completely stripped down to lightest weight configuration). There is no battery compartment inside the guitar because batteries are NOT NEEDED for this guitar. You get a NICE believable acoustic sound when you plug it into a Roland Microcube (2Watt amp, single 5" speaker, 9.5 x 6.5 x 8.5 in) and turn the Roland amp dial to "acoustic" setting. The Roland amp requires batteries/AC charger, but the guitar itself does not need batteries. Of course the electric sound is killer as well! If you take off the lap rest and plug it into the Roland Amp, you still get a nice electric sound. No worry about baggage handling damage as this is small enough to carryon the plane. Sure wish they sold a hard case for this. But I guess a work around would be to buy a small rifle gun case if you want to store this in a hard case. All in all, a TERRIFIC way to get more practice instead of twiddling your thumbs in the shotgun passenger seat!!!

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is realy good. You can make it sound like an acoustic or electric. First time playing is not so easy need to practice. Diferent way to play but it is good to keep you in a good shape. It is just too expensive.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just pulled this out of the box and can't say enough great things about this mini-hybrid guitar. It is so different, but plays amazing. I A/B'd it to a Bose Compact for acoustic sound and an Orange Tiny Terror with 12" cab in the other. OMG!! This is great. I gig regularly with a Breedlove D25 and Taylor T5 and this little Traveler Pro Series A/E makes me reconsider my rig. Granted, the ergonomics are different and you have to get adjusted to playing with no arm rest, but man, I just couldn't put it down. And it's so light!! Also, as others have mentioned, great for practicing with no amp. Definitely check this out....its a keeper!

Overall a great buy, it will last for years and is a great way to take your music with you.
I have had this guitar for years and it has been on hundreds of planes with me. the padded case is great and it has survived very well. it is small enough that you can put it in a backpack with the neck sticking out so if you go thru airports it can count as one piece. I tend to play with headphones and the sound is great, but can also rock with an amp. you will not be dissapointed!

Great But It Needs An Arm Rest, Here's How

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ok, go to Michael's Crafts (hope you have their 40 or 50% off coupon. Go to their naked/bare wood section. Look for a Oval Basswood Plaque, 12 x 16" by Walnut Hollow it matches the guitar exactly. Take it home and experiment with it on your lap with the travel guitar on top. What you want it to use the guitar's leg rest but the oval plaque as an arm rest. On the back of the guitar is a round nut that sticks out. Make a pen mark on the wood around the nut. Now drill just deep enough to allow the nut to go into the wood, you don't have drill all the way through it. Then use industrial strength velcro on the back of the guitar and the front of the plaque, attach together. Now you have a travel guitar that feel much more like a full acoustic guitar but you can still take it apart for travel--a winner!

        Perfect travel guitar

        By Bernard H

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I own it for almost a year. It allows to reherse in a room without annoying the family or when traveling as it can be kept in cabin or packed in a car. The design is quite tough and can be packed with other luggage with no fear, the regular size of the neck is very convenient. I Highly recommend it as a travel guitar or second guitar for rehersing when promiscuity is an issue.

Comments about Traveler Guitar Pro Series Travel Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is good for traveling. The only problem is that the string wrap around behind the pickup and the vibrate when you play and make a high pitched buzz. The knobs also come off easily but that might be because mine is old. It sounds good with a marshall amp and Boss MT-2 pedal but you can get the same sound from a Dean Evo XM.ONLY BUY THIS FOR TRAVELING!!
