I have been playing guitar for 20 years now, and have also designed many guitars as a consultant. The Washburn Wm526 that I own is a very rare black flame maple top black (not in production), however built exactly the same as production Wm526, except it features a Flame maple top on the mahogany body. The WM526, has a great natural tone, and one of the fastest necks ever with excellent stength due to the carbon fiber fret board (which is slick and fast on bends).I have been inside the US Music office/USA factory where the WM526 is made. Very clean facility with hard workers. The quality and dedication of their work is displayed in the quality and awesome playability of the WM526Definitely a great guitar, excellent and fun too play, one of the easiest to play guitars. Great instrument for any style of music that demands excellence in your playing.
Maybe I got a bad one; that happens, but when I pay this kind of money, I expect WAY better. Cracks in the neck? A toggle switch broken in the case? Only one spring connected to the FR? Pickups adjusted all the way up without a tool to re-adjust? Come on Washburn! EWP= should read "I owned it; returned it for a better guitar company."
This is a great guitar. I love the carbon fiber fretboard. I have the metallic green model and it looks fantastic. Washburn has unbelievable customer service. i got a guitar made just for me. I have a high respect for this company. Im also glad i ordered this guitar when it was a thousand dollars cheaper. I think its worth the money i paid for and I'm stunned by the new price tag. anyways i love this guitar if u can play one please do it.
I've been hearing amazing things about this guitar. It's got all the specs that I would want on a custom guitar. I'm pretty interested in the carbon fretboard. I know how easy parker guitars are to play, so I can only imagine how amazing this guitar is. If you play metal, I'm sure this is the guitar for you.
I use this guitar primarily for metal but I'm not afraid to play some Albert Lee through it as well. This is a great sounding instrument for metal, and surprisingly good for clean and country stuff. I've alway's loved composite fretboards, and this one is a smooth operator.I like the idea and look of no fret markers while sitting on my sofa jamming, but under stage lighting, the idea may be a bit too bold. I've found myself out of place on the fretboard more than once in the best conditions. The Floyd, and locking nut stay in tune and perform well. Spring tension on Floyd is a little light for me from factory. The guitar I bought is black, and it is stunning to look at, there is, however, some very subtle paint runs on the back bottom of body. The action is set moderately low from factory and what I love about this guitar is its low-buzz profile, even with a heavy picking attack. This guitar is fast and has low neck friction, but I seem to do my best shredding on a thicker neck.(e.g. Washburn A20- but its my preference and not a knock on this guitar).RWB Denver
I purchased this guitar in the Transparent Black and it is beautiful! Very sleek. The neck is a shredders dream. Its is soooo smooth. The workmanship is Flawless as oppose to most Gibson guitars that you will play today. It has EMG pick ups that sound great Clean or with high gain. If you play heavy metal I highly recommend this guitar.
I got this guitar and honestly it was a dream to play and it was just plain beautiful until the neck cracked and my frets started falling off.... i expected a lot more... THANKS WASHBURN!!!!
Washburn.....this guitar is greatness 101, the EMGs put out amazing tone & sound. The origial Floyd is perfect for keeping in tune with dives & pull-ups and, bends. Shredding is your 1st thought when you hold this guitar. Washburn kicked a** wih this beast.
This guitar is just amazing. i bought it without playing it which is dumb but in this case worked out perfectly. This guitar is beautiful. the paint job is amazing, the neck is lighting fast!! and i love emg's. this guitar is the top line for metal, it does not get any better than this
