Overview

Blazes its own path with crystalline sound and a striking original look.

The Wechter Pathmaker Acoustic-Electric Guitar is truly a unique and innovate instrument. The 5730 features a solid spruce top with scalloped braces and rosewood back and sides, an abalone rosette, and a bound neck and headstock. The ultra-thin neck has extreme low action making the guitar a pleasure to play and the unique Pathmaker double cutaway body provides neck access comparable to that of electric guitars. Other unique features include off-set mini dot position markers, and a distinctive headstock shape that lines up the stings in line with the nut, and a 22 fret fingerboard. Attention to detail and fine craftsmanship set the Wechter Pathmaker guitars apart.

All Wechter guitars including the Pathmaker 5730 undergo a meticulous final setup utilizing their Piek Pro System where they install brand new premium quality coated light gauge strings, adjust the action, adjust the nut, trussrod, saddle, file frets if necessary, clean the fingerboard and bridge, polish and repack - every guitar, every time, so that Wechter knows you are getting a guitar that will play the best right out of the box. All Wechter guitars have a lifetime warranty.

Wechter 3-Pickup electronics system won the Guitar Player Editors' Pick award. It offers a huge repertoire of blended microphone and pickup sounds and consists of a condenser microphone on a flexible gooseneck, a soundhole magnetic pickup with adjustable polepieces and an undersaddle piezo transducer.

The on-board preamp allows maximum tonal variety and flexibility. A 3-band tone control contours the blended magnetic/piezo signal and does not control microphone signal. The mixing control blends soundhole magnetic pickup and undersaddle piezo transducer. The microphone volume and tone (sharpness) controls let you mix in a little microphone signal after setting the primary magnetic/piezo signal. Dual output high-impedance 1/4" jack and low-impedance XLR jacks can be used simultaneously.

Also included on the preamp is an overall volume control, phantom power LED, low battery power LED, and a phase reversing switch for feedback control. The electronics system can be powered by a 9-volt battery or 48 volt phantom power through the XLR jack.

Abe Wechter has been designing and building guitars for 30 years and over the course of his career, Abe designed and built handmade guitars for artists like John McLaughlin, Al DiMeola, John Denver, Earl Klugh, B B King, Steve Howe, Jonas Hellborg and many other fine players. Wechter guitars is committed to continue to deliver innovation, quality and value, at prices working musicians can afford.
