Comments about Yamaha APX700II Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I became enchanted by this guitar after picking up my friend's 80's APX-7 with composite back. Back when he bought it in the 80's, he paid over one hundred more than what I paid for this today for this guitar. Today's pricing from Musician's Friend with free shipping, for a "demo model condition", was simply impossible to pass up.
This guitar has it all. You can easily lower the action for even more effortless playing experience. I restrung this with Martin Extra Light strings. The instrument is just a joy to handle. Above all, this "recertified" instrument arrived in a vurtually brand new condition, with a bonus - it has been tested and played by professionals before being shipped to me!
The finish is absolutely gorgeous, and the guitar itself weighs very little. The body size is nearly Parlor. The cut-away is perfect. The oval rosette makes this look unique. Compact and extremely useful control panel on top, measuring no more than 3.5" x 3" gives you all the volume and tuning controls you need.
This guitar produces a very crisp, true sound with a pick. Without a pick this sounds like any other respectable classical brand. I've heard and read stories of musicians trying this for the first time and not believing that this is a Chinese-crafted instrument priced hundreds, if not thousands, less than comparable high quality brands.
I'm very glad I have this added to my guitar collection, and can't put this down in the evenings. Buy one, be it your beginner guitar or serious performance piece. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Yamaha APX700II Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar was my first step from the entre level guitars. I was looking for something that was easy to play yet sounded and looked good. The APX700ii fits that bill to a T. When it come out of the box it played pretty good, but after having it set up by my local guitar shop, this guitar really shines. I play with a lot of professional musicians who can't get over how well this guitar plays and sounds. The neck is really fast and the action is low. I can't comment too much on the electric aspect of the guitar because I rarely plug it in. The times I have, it has sound great, but that's just pushing it through a small 15W amp. I do like the ease of built in tuner and that the guitar uses AA batteries. I'm about to expand and get a larger dreadnought, but I haven't found one yet that sounds as good as my Yamaha without spending over $1K. Bottom line is that for the money, you can't get much better in both sound and quality.
