This guitar is great value for money. I live in Malaysia. You get a solid spruce top, built in pre amp, dual piezo pickup, built in tuner and a solidly crafted guitar. Now, lets get down to the more important stuff. This guitar sounds great plugged in as well as unplugged. It resonated true rich acoustic sound when played unplugged with balanced bass and treble. I play a variety of genre's and this guitar sounds great with all. Ideal for plucking and strumming. Plugged in, this guitar resonates a bright semi acoustic sound with clear pitch. I tested at least 10 different models in this price range before making my decision and this was definitely the best one. I love the Yamaha AMF technology (anti - feedback). This makes the output sound clean and undistorted. I would recommend it to anyone....
This guitar is an absolute steal for the money. Don't waste time and money on Martins or Taylors unless you have 2k to blow on an acoustic. This guitar is an amazing value. Sounds great plugged in and acoustic. The body is very comfortable for long sessions and Yamaha really ensured that the CPX700 has balanced highs, lows, and mids. This guitar is the only acoustic I own and I have no desire to own anything else. Buy this guitar, you won't regret it!
This guitar is SUCH A STEAL. I bought it for Praise and Worship at my college and it sounds immaculate. I'm not quite at the point where I wanted to invest in a Taylor or Martin, and I thought I would have this for a few years and then upgrade...but I don't think I'm going to have to. This guitar is everything you need. Unplugged it sounds beautiful, plugged in it sounds beautiful. It would be a mistake NOT to buy this guitar!
After years of playing jazz in a group, I landed a solo acoustic gig at a local bar. I had gotten this guitar to record some tracks for another artist, but hadn't really used it that much...I'm more of an archtop guy. The more I play this guitar, the more I'm in love with it. It has great tone, sounds great plugged in, holds up well in changing enviroments, holds tune AMAZINGLY well, and after a basic setup, the action is fantastic. I can't believe how good this guitar sounds. I've actually had people come up to me at the shows and ask what kind of guitar it was...the tone was that good.My ONLY quibble, the truss rod cover is cheap looking, but I made a new one out of rosewood. The tuner works great. All in all, I think it's the most guitar I've ever gotten for the money. If I lost it, I'd definitely buy another one!
