I couldn't wait to use this product. I had a good idea of what to expect and it was everything I expected and maybe more. I instantly found that pitch correction comes as a result of using in-ear monitors! Come on, every body sings a little off key! This will really help out. I strapped on my bass and sang a song and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was on key and was very confident in my playing because I could here! We bought these to eliminate "clutter" on stage and help our deaf drummer to hear what he really sounds like. These also eliminate feedback issues. We're a three piece band and we now have a really clean stage! No on-stage amps or monitors! It's very cool! We have yet to practice or gig with these, but we're all pretty confident that it's going to be awesome. The only problem I have experienced so far is a hiss from the mix. Some of it is coming from onboard effects on my board, but most is from the wireless unit. I think this will be easily corrected by using a high-pass filter on a good EQ, which will be my next investment. The earphones are pretty comfortable. I put them in for a couple of hours while playing around with the mix. I used the expanding foam and they do a good job of blocking out the outside sounds and preserving the mix. The range was almost 100 feet in an obstructed environment. I was impressed! It's my first experience with in-ear monitors and so far, I am pleased! I think the guy who wrote about it sounding like a coffee can just doesn't know how to set up his monitor mix. Just my thought. I don't think anyone serious about there music would think this was a bad investment.

I received a PSM 200 wireless monitor for a gift that I have use for the past month. Shure, was chosen because I own several shure wireless units. Don't you think you should have put an on/off switch since you advertise this in the brochure/manual? I also found this unit advertise as rack mount system but not designed as one. What were you thinking when you put the only inputs on the front of the unit. Now I have to pull a cord through a rack space, or around the rack unit. For this unit, some forethought should have been put in the product or advertised differently. I have been disappointed in this from the time I started using it. If it was a cheep little toy to play around with it would not be such a big deal. I try to rely on the products I use every night, but have found this product unreliable, by design and use in a live setting. This is not the Shure quality or design I know. You have me questioning future products from shure.

As a frontman for a rock band, I'm usually front and center. Trouble is, I'm right in front of the drums, and on a crowded stage the cymbals are pounding my ears to the point where it physically hurt! Thankfully, this system has improved my ability to hear EVERYTHING just right, without killing my ears anymore. I also run my guitar feed thru my PODXT and straight into the board...no more guitar amp! I hear everything perfect no matter where I am on stage, with no ringing anymore after a show. Don't hesitate! Buy this product, you will thank me later!
I have used this for about two years, probably 100 or more gigs. The other members in the band rely on a floor monitor, but with the lead guitar volume creeping up all night and the THUMP of the bass in my ear this is the only thing that works. The sound is great. I do mostly solo work now, but I still would not do a gig without this monitor.
Bought it and do not know why I waited so long to buy. I can't imagine playing without it. I can hear the mix crystal clear and my ears do not ring at the end end of the show. Don't go cheap as this is money well spent.
At school, I study and train in classical singing, but on the weekends I play in bars and festivals with my rock band for 4 hours a night. So the condition of my voice is very important to do what I do.I have used floor monitors for a long time, but have also had many experiences with wireless systems comparable with this one, and they have all met the expectations. Owning this system, I go home from gigs feeling fresh and my ears comfortable. Not only that, but I can hear myself much better onstage and never have to sing harder than necessary to hear myself in the mix over the band. For anyone who cares about their vocal health or just being able to hear themselves, I highly recommend this system. I have relatively small ears, but this comes with a large variety of buds for all shapes and sizes, so even i found a fit. The supplied earphones sound great, especially with an ipod for leisure application, you'll hear things in the recordings you've never noticed before.Although it is an investment, I definitely say it is well worth every penny. They practically pay for themselves by keeping your voice ready for more gigs in less time.
Wow, what a system! There is NOTHING better than actually hearing yourself, crystal clear. I don't go home with ringing ears and a soar throat. I never, ever strain anymore. This system is affordable and durable. I would recommend it to everyone!!
I have had this product for approximately 2 years, and I'm not going to lie - after the first time I used them, I didn't use them again for about 6 months. This had NOTHING to do with the product, but my comfort level with using it.After I started using them for the second time, I could not believe how much it improved my performances. The quality of the sound is unbelieveable and the protection it gives your ears is invaluable. No more ringing after shows!!Fantastic - buy buy buy!
I play live in an 80's rock band and was tired of going to sleep at night "sound drunk" from the floor monitors so loud as well as all of the on stage noise. I play bass and sing and this unit has given me the best option to get away from the noise. I did buy "Livewire" in ear sound isolating earphones, however i used the E2's that came with the system for 4 gigs and they seem to work fine. If you want the better sound spend the money on upgrading your earphones. This unit works very well and is well worth the cost if you think about the fact that you only have one set of ears. Singers will love this unit because you will never strain to hear yourself again. If you want to improve your performance, don't think twice this will help.
This is my first wireless monitor system and I love it. I cannot believe the difference it makes. I play drums and I can hear EVERYTHING crystal clear. I do not use the E2's that the system comes with so I cannot review those. I use Westone Custom ES2's. One of the best features this system has is the 2 inputs. I can put the mix in one and my click in the other. Would definintely recommend this if you are thinking about switching from floor monitors to wireless.
If you sing for a loud band, stop torturing yourself with mediocre PA monitors at small clubs. The PSM 200 made my life so much easier, it was like I was cheating somehow. I could finally hear what my voice sounded like "at the speakers" instead of guessing through a haze of guitar wash. Of all of the in-ear monitoring systems I've seen, this was the best overall value and was worth it from the moment I put the earphones on. I used to strain my voice, thinking I had to compete with the high volume on stage, only to realize that I was basically yelling after seeing videos of my band's performance. Not anymore. If you're debating whether to make the leap to a wireless personal monitor, you could hardly do better than this quality Shure product.
I purchased this unit 6 months ago based on the recommendations of a few other area musicians and have used it at about 15 live shows since. It took a little getting used to having zero stage noise and only hearing what I wanted/needed, but I would not go without it again. No more ringing ears! The P2 really helps alot with singing harmonies and staying on pitch because you can hear so clearly, even with high stage amp volumes.
