Line 6

A lightweight, low-profile system that provides tone presets to match the sounds of guitar cables.

Line 6's Relay G30 redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists with superior sound, professional dependability, and refreshing simplicity.

The Relay G30 Digital Wireless Mic System provides a pure signal so guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 30 meters (98 ft. approx). The signal's clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high- and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G30 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.

Professional Dependability
The Relay G30 broadcasts its robust signal over the 2.4GHz band. This keeps the signal free from many kinds of interference. For added security, the system employs exclusive signal protection technology: it broadcasts an encrypted data stream on six channels simultaneously. Traditional wireless instrument systems, on the other hand, are susceptible to dropouts, static, and many other kinds of interference. Broadcasting over congested UHF bands, their signals may be affected by interference generated as far away as 100 miles, or more.

Refreshing Simplicity
The lightweight transmitter of the Line 6 Relay G30 remains out of the way of your performance, and the rugged receiver can sit on top of your amp or be added to your pedal board. The receiver offers bright and easy-to-read LEDs that display power, status, and battery life. Its standard 1/4" inputs and outputs deliver real convenience.

The mic system comes complete with transmitter, receiver, and all necessary accessories including cable, power supply, and batteries.

Attached to Your Guitar Cable?
For players attached to cables, adopting a wireless system introduces many questions: What will it feel like? Will it change my sound? Relay G30 sounds just like a cable, but it also sounds just like your cable. It features two EQ settings that match the frequency responses of typical guitar cables. Different players use different cables, but all players can use Line 6 Relay G30.

The Wireless Mic Revolution
Relay G30 is proudly ushering in a better-sounding and more dependable era of wireless guitar systems. It will inspire you to explore new areas of your music and the stage.

I use this unit all of the time since I bought it 3 months ago.It hasn't let me down yet.The transmitter battry latch does come open but I fixed it with 3 pieces of valcro. It keeps the door closed, other than that this is a great unit to have if you don't like the cords all over the place.
The receiver is like a Stomp Box pedal I like that, I look down and there it is on my pedal board. The tone quality sounds better to me when I use the unit rather than a cable.
Try it yuo'll like it.

Based on my experience I can't recommend this product at all. I wish I could have it replaced instead of having to keep getting it repaired. Even if it gets fixed, I can't trust it to keep working. It's really embarassing to have your equipment fail during a performance. The compact size and ease of use is great, but what good is that if it's not dependable and is always broken.
Easy to use except I have to use duct tape to tape keep it on my guitar strap. Also doesn't stay on my belt. Just doesn't clip on and stay on well. Great compact size and no antennas. I put the receiver with my pedal board. No difference in sound quality-just like your guitar is plugged into the amp.
It stopped working right in the middle of a song during a gig. Was only 6 months old. Luckily I bought the extended coverage. It took 6 weeks to get it back after the hassle and expense of going to the UPS store and sending it in. The first time I used it after getting it repaired, it stopped working right in the middle of a song at a gig again. So now I have to pay to have it shipped for repair again. The definition of quality is "fitness for use." Since it is not fit for use I have to give it a terrible quality rating.
This product has no value because it fails to work properly

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I really wanted this wireless unit, because a friend was having great success with his and I wanted to treat myself. Unfortunately, it only worked a couple of times and constantly would drop the sound. If I knew what the glitch was I would fix it. "My" unit is unreliable and for the price a waste of my money. Too bad, it`s a cool idea. Perhaps they need to go back to the drawing board to CREATE RELIABILITY...

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

This is the best unit of its kind overall. If you need to walk 150 feet out into the audience the G50, G55, or G90 might give you more reliable reception. But the G30 has three key advantages: it's cheaper, lighter, and has a standard quarter-inch jack rather than an XLR jack, so you can experiment with different cables and easily find a spare if the cable gets lost or broken. (Tip: If you find the cable is pulling out too often, try a right-angle jack.) Some people worry the plastic shell is flimsy but it's not: I've been using the same unit for four years and it's never malfunctioned. Why pay more to carry more weight with the pricier metal versions?

I did have problems closing the battery compartment on the first unit I purchased (had to apply strong pressure with a flathead screwdriver) but the problem eventually fixed itself and was never present on a second unit I purchased more recently, so it seems to have been corrected. One problem that has not been fixed is that the 9-volt jack on the receiver is too loose to grip the plug securely, so you have to make sure there's no direct pressure on it when setting up. The belt clip is useless but can be easily slid off and discarded. This unit requires a pouch to be mounted on your guitar strap, available from Levy's Leather and from Neotech. In spite of these imperfections the unit is very easy to use once you figure out the workarounds and really gets the job done. So I can't bring myself to give it less than five stars. No more going back to always-too-short cables for me!

Clear sound and great quality. Perfect for most small and medium stages. There was no difference in the sound compared to a cable. Plus I was able to have it as part of my pedalboard so it was easily accessible rather than back at my amp. Line6 consistently delivers quality.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

First let me say I play bass and most bass equipment is very expensive and I was looking for a cheap but reliable wireless to try out. I am not sure if you I am going to keep this one or send it back before 30 days are up.

So far using it only 2 times I find it a very easy to use wireless without any of the confusing stuff most wireless units have and a no fuss plug and play setup.

The description and manual both say wireless up to 98 feet but I have yet to go more than 20 feet in a live situation without there being some kind of disruption. Sometimes there is a delay that happens even being 5 feet away that is very slight and maybe I notice it a bit more than others do because its my sound and I am the one playing. I do find the wireless works best when the tone selection is set for 30 feet, but even then 30 feet is more like 12 feet. Even with that turned off you cant go more than 20 feet without it loosing line of sight and or screaming through your cabinet. ***NO WAY!!! can you use this wireless in a crowd or if someone tries to get close to you while the receiver is strapped to your strap or on your pocket.

I haven't tried attaching the receiver in between the strap where I run my cable through or on the inside of my strap. I will try those areas next maybe I will get a stronger signal or have less delay.

obviously it goes without saying if I bought the top of the line Line 6 Wireless unit I wouldn't have any issues and would be praising this brand...I still have my doubts...

Bottom line...if there was an option for "not sure" if I would recommend this to a friend, I would choose that option.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I added this unit to my effects pedal board and I like the small size, it fits nicely. I generally play small clubs and the main purpose of this unit is to let me walk out to do a sound check for the band. It doesn't seem to lose any sound quality. I have not had any issues with anything breaking in the 12 months I've owned it. The downside is the battery life. I play 4 sets a night. I turn the unit off during breaks and I still had issues with the batteries going dead. I replace the batteries every show and I have still had the batteries go dead on me in the later sets. I do use alkaline batteries. Other than that I have not had any issues

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

The sound quality is good. The difference between this wireless and a cable is minimal.

This unit fails miserably when it comes to durability and reliability. The belt clip, although metal, is weak and bent open the very first time I used it. The battery door has a latch with a spring that is too weak to hold the battery door closed securely. Even when manually pushed closed, I've had the battery door open and the batteries fall out on many occasions. I've experienced intermittent, unpredictable "drop-outs" many times with this wireless, even when I was very close to the receiver. On several occasions, I've had the batteries suddenly go dead even though this LED indicators on the receiver had indicated they were okay just a short while before they went dead. Rather than a gradual loss of power, these were sudden, unexpected losses of power mid-song which left me scrambling for a cable in order to finish the song.

The Relay G30 is extremely easy to use. This is one of very few saving graces.

I would not recommend this wireless at all! This is the first Line 6 product I've ever owned and, because of the poor build quality, will likely be the last.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

After several months of gig use, the clip broke off from the transmitter unit. when I attempted to fix it back on, the round plastic knob broke off too. really poor construction. disappointing.
The battery latch, like many have commented before, it's also poorly made.
The wireless transmission works like a dream. Great transparent sound, but if someone in the vicinity has turned on his bluetooth device, you will get intermittent coverage.

I was really looking forward to using this system in my setup, but two minutes before my band call on stage I start to put the transmitter on my belt, and I hear a snap. One of the little tab on the back of the pack broke off from me just trying to push it on my belt! Mind you, i had just bought this two hours before didn't even get to try it out cause our sound check got canceled. So that's a design issue! I'll be going to get another one today hopefully I can this with a better experience :). I'm sure they sound awesome! I want to believe!

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

This little rig ROCKS! Literally. I have been playing professionally for 33 years and have had more than my share of wireless systems in that time. None of them came close to expectations and were either returned or scrapped. I read some good press on the Line 6 Relay so I thought I would take yet one more plunge into the murky waters of wireless...
I can see(or should I say hear) clearly that someone has finally come up with a wireless that works the way the guitar gods intended. All you hear is what you are supposed to hear: your guitar. I brought this thing home and hooked the receiver straight into my tube combo and hooked the transmitter into my Strat and all could hear is the sweet sound of fender goodness. Every nuance was there, as good or better than my HQ cables. No noise whatsoever. The range is great, enough for any gig.
I bought the g30, and although it is all plastic, it seems as though if treated with respect, will give years of service. I'm sure the higher priced versions in the series only get better in terms of quality. Battery life is good for this type of device, I bought some rechargeable AA's for it. I would recommend getting ones that are at least 2000 mha. As for the price, this beats everything else in this range. Bar none.
I used this last weekend for the first time in a live situation and it performed flawlessly, allowing me the freedom to move among the crowd and check our mix out front.
My search is finally over, I have found a wireless that works, and I could not be happier.
