OVERVIEW

120dB dynamic capability and 250 feet transmitting distance.

With the Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless system you get a great value in a full-featured, single-channel UHF wireless mic system with interference-free operation in any application or locale on select UHF frequencies within separate bands 902-928 and 944-952 MHz.

The half-rack designed UHF-4 receiver features Nady's proprietary companding circuitry to give it a 120dB dynamic range for clear, natural sound, and a Tone Squelch for locking out potential interference. It also features DigiTRU Diversity for maximum range and dropout protection, full LED indicators, unbalanced and balanced outputs, and special circuitry for noiseless transmitter On/Off switching.

The wireless microphone system's included UB-4 transmitter gives you the option to chose from instrument (GT), headworn (HM), and lavalier (LT) mic operating modes, and includes an Off/Standby/On switch which allows convenient audio muting while the transmitter is in use. A status LED indicator flashes once to let you know it's on while it stays steady when your battery is going low. It has a locking 3.5mm mini-jack that provides you with a secure connection for your removable mic or instrument cable, and an easily accessible input level adjust controller for optimum sound in HM and LT modes.

The UHF-4 Guitar Wireless system also includes a 1/4" instrument cable.

This unit is awesome!!! I got Ch. 11 and haven't had a single problem yet. I dropped it once, and it still works fine. I did go ahead and bought the 3 year warranty, since I read some of the reviews. ANYONE WITH TROUBLE WITH THE CLIP: SINCE IT'S A GUITAR SYSTEM, USE A RUBBER BAND TO HOLD IT ON (SEE ONE OF MY ADDED PICTURES). IF YOU WRAP THE RUBBER BAND AROUND THE UNIT AND HAVE IT GRIP THE BOTTOM OF THE CLIP, IT HOLDS THE TRANSMITTER IN PLACE VERY VERY WELL.
Public service announcement: THE PICTURED CABLE IS NOT INCLUDED!!! I have posted a picture of the top of the transmitter (since I couldn't find any on the internet) and the ends of the included cable. It is 1/4" to 3.5mm locking. The cord length is just under 4ft.
I use the unit on my acoustic guitar primarily, but it has worked with all of mine. I definitely would recommend this product to anyone looking for mid/high quality output (although it does mess with the EQ a little, the actual output is not distorted), especially for use at church. Battery life isn't great, but what do you expect?
Overall, great unit for the price. It gives you so much freedom. Great job Nady!!!

I was a bit nervous about buying a "budget" wireless unit because of the usual stereotypical poor quality. However, this unit seems great! Yes, it's made of plastic...but if you take care of it, it'll last. My body pack has already taken a few falls and is still working great. I put the receiver on top of my amp and connect it with a short patch cable. I must say, this thing sounds great! I've A/B'd it with a good quality cable and the only difference I've noticed is a bit less low-end when playing cleans, and the difference is rather subtle at that. When playing with distortion or overdrive (which I do a majority of the time), I can't notice a difference. Actually, I have fewer problems with noise and feedback when using the wireless instead of the cable. My friend tried it out with his guitar and rig and experienced the same thing. The range of this unit is awesome. Unless I'm in a very high interference area, I don't think I'll ever have signal issues. I haven't had the chance to gig with this unit yet, but I will definitely be using it for our next gig. The battery life has been pretty good, but I do recommend getting some rechargeable 9V batteries; probably cheaper in the long run.

On a side note, the metal coil at the base of the jack initially caused some noise when the cable moved. To fix this, I carefully unscrewed the jack and slid the metal coil out to the middle of the cable so it s not making contact with anything, then screwed the jack back tight. Since then the cable has been very quiet. I will probably remove the coil all together eventually, just haven t done so yet.

This is a great unit and is definitely worth the price. If you are looking for a budget wireless unit, this is definitely a very good option to consider. I have had no problems with it and plan to use it until it breaks, or until I upgrade to a higher end unit.

Great little unit. No problems so far. No ambient noise, no hiss, no interference. Haven't had a chance to really test range, but seems to do just fine anywhere I've used it. I also have NADY UHF-4 wireless mic. Love it as well.

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

I was looking for a wireless setup that didn't cost an arm and a leg. This is the one. I've had more expensive units that did not get out there as well as this powerful unit does. Very, very happy with M.F. Recommendation of this product. They know their stuff.

Bought two of these a couple of years ago. Totally unreliable with very poor sound quality. Nady used to make some decent units but these are junk from the word go. They cut out almost consistantly. Do yourself a favor and invest in a better unit from the start.

I bought this unit used. Tried it out at home and used it for a live festival gig this past weekend (Sept 2014). Didn't have any issues. Sound was clear,... clean and dirty channels. No dropouts. Not a very durable transmitter, but if you are careful and take care of it, seems to be fine. One gig down, was able to go off the stage and into the crowd at a festival with no issues. Great to be wireless.

Doesn't Work Well With Acoustic Guitar

Comments about Nady UHF-4 Guitar Wireless System:

This is a neat little unit for the price, but it seemed to rob a little low-end and add unwanted noises. Particularly D and G strings when played together caused some sort of warbling that was not at all there using a cable. Playing the high notes on an open chord seemed to enourage a sort of scraping sound that was even worse. I can see where these sounds might not be noticeable using a distorted electric guitar, but they made it unusable for my purpose of reproducing a clean acoustic guitar. I called Nady support and Schmitty(?) quickly told me I needed an "active" cable if I was using an active pickup, and that would almost surely solve the problem - and I understood him to be talking about the short cable that connected the guitar to the transmitter. I was able to Google and find talk of a battery-powered instrument cable that was called "active" at a premium price, no one else I've talked to has heard of one. Also, If this was known the solution, I'm not at all happy with Nady for not supplying that "active" cable, or at least mentioning this requirement in the documentation. I'm a little aggravated about having wasted my time with this.

I've used several of these units on varying frequencies over the past 9 years, and have nothing but positives to relate with one minor exception... the standard 'jack' is really flaky, so I replaced each one with a RCA plug solution, and have had NO problems with them... Use with both bass and guitars, and they work faultlessly... Note that they do boost the signal output, so if you use a compressor/distortion pedal signal chain, you will sustain FOREVER (perfect!)... These units have stood up to the use/misuse/abuse of the road, and every single one of them continues to work flawlessly... highly recommend

After reading the reviews I almost did not purchase this product. Maybe its not the best for pro's on stage full time. But it works great for my purpose. I am very happy with the equipment. I realize its not the most expensive, but it works just fine for those on a budget. The range is very good and the tone is great.

This unit has poor sound quality if you are playing with any kind of distortion. So if you are thinking about playing distortion with this unit just save your money and buy a better one. I tried playing a show with this and it was getting so much feedback that I had to switch back to my chord. Even when the volume knob was all the way off it was still picking up full sound...
