Comments about Shure GLX-D Guitar Wireless System with GLXD4 Wireless Receiver:

I wanted to go wireless when playing live gigs. I have been waiting for digital, hoping the sound would be better than analog and not have to worry about RF issues.

I must say, I am pleased with my acoustic guitar tone with this unit. I haven't noticed any tone loss, color, or any added artifacts at all. I play Martin J35E, OM42, J28, DM12, and HD28. They all sound as good as with a guitar cable.

The long/rechargeable battery is also great. 16hrs of playtime on a single charge.

I mostly play through a Bose rig. I have not had any issue with feedback at all.

The unit only takes up 1/2 of 1U in my rack. I wish they were rack mountable, but I simply used Velcro and fastened it to a piece of rack gear. They hold up to transport just fine. They are extremely light, so not much mass to try and fall off the velcro. I used the wide velcro, so in fact it was hard to remove it from the rack gear when I wanted to move it a little.

The manual says you need to have 6 ft between the transmitter and receiver or you could get drop outs. I have my rack right next to me, so maybe 3-4ft away and have no issues with it dropping outs.

The body pack is a bit heavier than I expected, but I attached it to my guitar strap. I threaded it through the end like a belt, so it cant fall off and hit my guitar. I also can reach it to switch it on and off with ease. Works just fine that way, and one less thing to have on my belt.

I am very happy with this purchase, so far.
