For songwriting, every instrument "contains" different songs and styles. I miss the old upright piano I used to have, but this digital piano has a feel and sound that come very close to what I rememember. Although mainly a guitarist, I like to write "piano songs" sometimes, and the Oxygen 49 keyboard I use for recording synth parts etc. doesn't quite do it. There may be better pianos, but this one sounds, feels, and works great for me. And for an amazing price.

I started using this after using a 72 key for about 10 years with all kinds of sounds and rhythms, etc. The pressure I had to use with this one was much stiffer, and it took me several weeks to get used to the sound. I tried putting it through speakers, but it was louder by itself than with the speakers. I like it mainly because it has the full 88 keyboard, but as far as sound and ease in operating, it's not what I expected. It's sound is more "tinny" than I wanted. The demo sounds wonderful, but I can't make it sound that good!!

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I bought this as a practice piano for my office at the church where I work, and it fulfills that role extremely well. Keyboard feel is surprisingly piano-like, and the handful of sounds, while not perfect, are very serviceable. Really an amazing value for the money.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

Bought this keyboard for my 6 year old daughter, who just started taking piano lessons. So far I'm very impressed with the fact that one can buy such a nice 88-key, realistic-feeling keyboard for a low price. The built-in grand piano sounds are pretty good too.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I bought this for my brother who's got accepted into music school and his major will be in Piano. Pianos are crazy expensive so we were looking for a digital piano that had a feeling as close as possible as a real piano. The keys are heavy like in a real piano and the sound is great. And for the price this is a great deal. We are very happy with this.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

Once a year, I visit family for a week or so. During that time, I don't have access to a piano, so it really puts me off my practicing plan. I bought this and had it shipped to my family's house so I could have something to practice on. I'm pleased with it for that purpose. The action isn't going to trick anyone into thinking it's a real piano, but the keys are weighted and touch-responsive, and so plenty good for keeping my chops up. The sounds are adequate, especially considering the mediocre speakers. It's also portable enough that I could box it up and stick it somewhere out of the way until I visit again next year. I would definitely recommend this as a secondary practice instrument, but not for much more than that.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I purchased this digital piano because I had to get rid of acoustic due to space. I did a lot of research and did not have a huge amount of money to spend. I wanted something 28th weighted keys and a full keyboard. The Casio is great. I didn't want a digital keyboard with hundreds of sounds, so this works well for me.

Comments about Casio CDP-130 Digital Piano:

I've been looking for a MIDI controller with the action of an acoustic piano. The CDP-130 was on sale so I decided to go for it. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. The hammer-type action feels wonderful, like that of the baby grand at my parents' house. I didn't expect much from the onboard sound, but it's actually quite good - good enough that I haven't even used it as a MIDI controller yet! The internal speakers aren't phenomenal, so if you want to get the most out of the onboard sounds, hook it into a home stereo or studio monitors.

This is so so so so so good for the price. I hardly ever write reviews but this instrument deserves recognition.
