    A multifaceted performance workstation.

From sound creation to musical performance, the CTK-6000 is a member of Casio's top-of-the-line keyboard workstations. It combines 670 high-quality and 200 preset rhythms with an expressive keyboard, sequencer, effects, mixer, arpeggiator, and more.

    Multi-track Recorder Capabilities Song Sequencer:
The Song Sequencer provides 16 tracks plus-one system track that supports recording of up to five songs and a total of approximately 12,000 notes. Each individual musical instrument part can be recorded to a different track for real multitrack recording capabilities. A full selection of editing tools include event insert, event delete, event copy, quantize, a locator feature for selecting the range of notes to be edited, and more. A step recording function also lets you input notes by specifying the length and pitch. Completed recordings can be converted to SMF (Standard MIDI File) format and stored to an SD memory card.

    32-channel Mixer:
Button operation can be used for individual simultaneous adjustment of volume, pan, reverb send, and other parameters. Sound input from an external source via the MIC IN terminal can also be adjusted as desired. Rhythm Editor Rhythm Editor lets you combine instrument parts from multiple built-in rhythms, turn individual instrument parts on or off, and adjust volume, pan, reverb, and other parameters to create your own original rhythms. You can even create original rhythms for NORMAL, FILL IN, INTRO, and ENDING accompaniment patterns. You can store up to 10 original rhythms in memory for instant recall whenever you need them

    Multiple Digital Effects:
Built-in effects include reverb (10 types), chorus* (five types), and DSP (100 types using 46 effect types including delay, phaser, flanger, wah, rotary, and more). You can apply different effects to a tone to create exactly the sound you want. By adjusting the parameters of the DSP effect types, you can create original DSP effects and store up to 100 original types in memory for later recall.

    * DSP and chorus cannot be used simultaneously.

    Registration:
A simple operation saves the current setup, including tone, rhythm, and other settings for instant recall when you need them.* You even can save tones to which effector effects are being applied. Recalling a registration instantly changes the digital keyboard's setup, making this a great tool for live stage performances.

    * WK-6500: 4 sets x 8 banks for 32 setups

    Tone Editor:
Tone Editor can be used to adjust attack time, release time, cut off, vibrato, reverb, chorus, DSP, and other parameters as desired. You can create distinctively original tones for performances and music creation session

    Arpeggiator:
With the arpeggiator, you can play various arpeggios and other phrases automatically by simply pressing keys on the keyboard. You can select from 150 different arpeggiaton types, including playing arpeggios from a fingered chord, guitar phrases, and more

    SD Memory Card Slot:
Song sequencer, rhythm editor, tone editor, and other data can be saved to an SD or SDHC memory card. SMF (Standard MIDI File) data stored on an SD or SDHC memory card can be played back on the digital keyboard.

    Input / Output Terminals:
Different input/output terminals are provided to meet a variety of different needs: line out terminals (L/MONO, R) for connection of the mixer of a stage PA system or other devices and a MIC IN terminal for connection of a musical instrument or microphone, an audio in terminal (AUDIO IN) for audio device input that can be output through the speakers, and more.

    USB Port:
The USB port provides easy computer and MIDI send/receive connection. It also enables quick and simple transfer of song sequencer, tone editor and other data. Download of a special Data Manager 6.0 application is required in order to transfer data to a computer.

    AHL Sound Source:
The sound source is pre-programmed with digital samples of acoustic musical instruments recorded using the most advanced digital technology. Thanks to CASIO original sound technology, the AHL sound source is capable of reproducing all of the natural smoothness of the original waveform.

    670 Built-in Tones and 10 User Tones:
The AHL sound source delivers a lineup of 670 different built-in tones. You also can store up to 10 of your own original tones for instant recall whenever you need them.

200 Preset Rhythms and Auto Accompaniment:
A total of 200 preset rhythms cover a wide range of musical genres, from rock and pops, to jazz, Latin, piano pieces, and more. Simply select the built-in rhythm you want and Auto Accompaniment provides you with backup that is the next best thing to having a professional band at your disposal.

    Large Dial:
A large operation dial really comes in handy during music creation using sequencer functions and mixer functions.

    Display:
The display shows the currently selected tone name and rhythm name, along with a wealth of other information. On the sequencer screen, for example, you can check the current status and volume level of each of the 16 tracks, and other setting information at a glance.

    Piano-Style Keyboard and Touch Response
    :
The keyboard is designed and engineered to provide a realistic piano experience. Just like a grand piano keyboard, Touch Response causes sound that is output to change in accordance with the amount of pressure applied to the keys.

    High-output 2-Way Bass Reflex Speakers:
A 6W+6W high-output bass reflex 2-way 4-speaker system delivers rich sound from low range to high. The speakers can be used as high-quality monitoring speakers during performances and music creation sessions.

    Pitch Bend Wheel:
The pitch bender wheel makes it easy to add realistic sounding guitar choking, sax bending, and other effects to keyboard play.

    Music Presets:
Music presets provide one-touch access to Auto Accompaniment, tone, reverb, and other settings that are configured in accordance with representative chord progressions. A total of 305 presets let you easily configure the keyboard for a wide variety of different musical styles. In addition to built-in presets, you can create your own original presets (user presets) and store them in memory for later recall.

An addition to my earlier review. The buttons all work but I have to press some of them really hard. Not as good of quality as the WK-3700.

Casio keyboards are impressive but less than a week after I bought the ctk-6000 some of the buttons stopped working. I had a WK-3700 previously and never had a problem with it. Don't know what to think about this!

Comments about Casio CTK-6000 61-Key Portable Piano:

Good sound for a portable. The keyz have a pretty good feel - unweighted but slightly stiff. You pretty much can't go wrong with a Casio or Yamaha portable.

                    Way worth the price!

Comments about Casio CTK-6000 61-Key Portable Piano:

I bought this keyboard to take on the road...I thought If it breaks I could run to the store and grab a new one before the show! LOL To my surprise this thing was loaded with great general sounds, 16trk sequencer etc. It will get any job done for a fraction of the price of many others. If you spend some time on the tones and effects you'll really enjoy it.

                    Very happy with this keyboard.

Comments about Casio CTK-6000 61-Key Portable Piano:

Overall, the CTK-6000 had all the features I was looking for and more for a very good price. I use it both for practice and in live performances with my band and I have been happy with it in both. I make use of the song sequencer when I am trying to write an original song and it helps a lot. It has some great synth tones for the classic rock songs that I play and the grand piano tone sounds much more realistic than my last keyboard. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who needs a good quality keyboard without paying the price of a Moog or a Korg.
I previously owned an old Casio CTK-541 and after I started playing gigs with my band i decided it was time to upgrade to something with more features. This had all the features I was looking for: layer, split, octave shift (2 octaves), tuning, pitch bend, and plenty of tones including user tones; plus some extra features I wasn't expecting like the 16 track song recorder/sequencer, and the variety of DSP effects that can be added to any tone. One thing i noticed however is that there is no number pad for quick selection of tones especially during live performances, but there is still time to switch tones between songs. There are lots of other littles features thrown in as well, such as adjustable pitch bend range, pedal assignment, auto accompanyment (which can tell you what chord your'e playing if you're not sure), an arpeggiator, and even lots of drum kit tones.
I was a little apprehensive about buying another Casio at first, because I thought they were cheaply made entry level keyboards, but this turned out not to be true. It is a good quality keyboard and I have not had any problems with it so far.
I was surprised at how low the price of this keyboard was compared to others with the same features. Even though it is a Casio and not a top-level keyboard it is still a great keyboard for the money and it was priced lower than any Yamaha's with similar features.

                    Casio this good?

Comments about Casio CTK-6000 61-Key Portable Piano:

Let me begin by saying I've played Rolands, Korgs, and Yamahas since the mid 80s. Never thought of touching a Casio until a friend said to give it try - I always looked at Casio as the cheap dollar wrist watches and calculators we used to buy years ago. I wanted a practice board a home so I would slow down the wear and tear on my Fantom X and Motif I now use at different gigs.I unboxed this keyboard this morning and hooked it up - I was absolutely floored at the piano patches I started playing right away! After some editing these piano patches are (I'm almost embarrassed to say) just as pronounced and refined as my Motif! $195 well spent!
