OVERVIEW

Great sound quality, enhanced tools, and instructional features for amateur and intermediate musicians.

76 standard-size keys make the Casio WK-225 a great step toward learning the piano while providing all the technology of a full-featured digital keyboard at an exceptional price. The WK-225 features piano-style, touch-response keyboard and 48-note polyphony so you can play dense arrangements without notes dropping out. Like the Casio CTK-4200, it has a 5-song/6-track recorder and 600 dynamic, inspirational sounds to choose from, including a stereo grand piano. Built-in reverb and chorus effects add depth and realism to the sounds.

Plus, the Casio WK-225 has features to take you further than a piano can, including a mic input with sampling (up to 10 seconds); 180 built-in rhythms that provide individual drum patterns or a full accompaniment in a variety of styles, providing a virtual backup band that follows your chord changes. Lightweight and compact, it can operate on battery power so you can take your music anywhere with you, or you can use its included AC power adapter.

The Casio WK-225 also features Casio's Step Up Lesson System, which allows novice users to learn at their own individual pace. Utilizing the LCD display, aspiring musicians can learn both music notation and correct hand positioning, while Casio’s innovative lesson system evaluates performance so you can track your progress.

I bought this little fella for jamming at home. I'm surprised at how good it sounds for the price. I like that I don't need an amp in my apartment because it has on-board speakers. The split feature is cool for bass in the left hand and on-board drummer to keep the beat.

Comments about Casio WK-225 76-Key Portable Keyboard:

I use this keyboard in a 60's-70's rock and roll band. Four to six hours of performance time weekly and six hours of practice weekly. Has every voice you could want in a keyboard and is no problem to carry around when you put it in a decent gig bag. I like it so much I bought one for practice studio and performances and another to play at home. Run it through an amp and you have all you need for performances. At home, the internal speakers are more than enough. Only problem is the user's manual and accompaning charts. Manual just does not cover the keyboard potential and you have to figure a lot out on your own. The chart of tones, rhythms, presets, etc. is printed in such small print with unknown abbreviations that it is almost useless. Casio cannot provide further support so plan on spending the first month just figuring out all (and there are many!)the features on this keyboard. Again, it is a great keyboard if you are willing to spend the time to learn it's many features. Highly recommend to all levels of skill.

Comments about Casio WK-225 76-Key Portable Keyboard:

I am not a professional musician but I have three pro keyboards. The next months I've got to go frequently to a place where there is not much to do so I decided to buy a cheap keyboard and leave it there instead take one of my keyboards every time I go. I wanted a 76 keys because I play piano also so I chose this one. I had not high hopes. I had a WK-7600 but I sold it because everything in it is excellent but the awful action. I was expecting a worse action but I was happy when I found out the action is not bad, at least not rattle at all. The sounds are OK. I'd like a black since I think this one is going to get dirty easily. The main drawback is that in split and layer mode is not possible to adjust the level of each sound. Example: I play Light My Fire with bass on left hand and organ on right hand. The sound of bass is very low and there's no way to solve that. Anyway I strongly recommend to buy it because ratio price/quality. I was planning to sell it once I didn't need it but I changed my mind and I decided to keep it for future needs.

"Restock" item, but you'd never know it - looks brand new. Great little keyboard for my music composition/arrangement needs. Connects easily to music software. Sound is a little tinny, but much better than some other brands I've heard. So glad I found this. Thanks!

My first elec. keyboard was a Yamaha PSR-280 and I like the features/feel of it. I think the Casio WK-225 is essentially a larger and improved version of the Yamaha. (However I haven't played bigger/nicer versions of Yamaha keyboards, like the Motif's)
