Real wooden keys and hammers for real piano action.
The Kawai MP8 Professional Digital Stage Piano features the AWA PRO keyboard action built around real wooden keys. AWA PRO action duplicates both the weight and the mechanical movement of Kawai's fine grand pianos. Combined with Kawai's industry-standard grand piano sounds, over 250 other amazing sounds, the massive 192-voice polyphony, great effects, and lots of controller functions, it's got everything you need in a stage piano, plus it has a USB port for computer connectivity.
The MP8 has 4 zones, with each zone capable of playing individual sounds and sending separate MIDI output. Each zone can be set up with split and layer and velocity switching functions for customized performance, plus you can save 256 of your favorite setups. You can individually assign effects to each of the 4 zones. Four assignable knobs control and edit reverb, effects, EQ, tone modification, and continuous MIDI controller settings within a setup. The MP8 offers a unique, assignable ON/OFF switch to control external sequencers, metronomes, and other panel functions.
The hammer weight is graded from top to bottom to replicate the dynamic weight curve of the Kawai EX Concert Piano and the bass keys are counter-balanced to create a more even static weight curve. The combination of graded weights and counterbalances give the AWA PRO action a remarkably realistic feel through all 88 keys. Kawai's Harmonic Imaging technology provides powerfully realistic sounds to go with the natural acoustic feel of the MP4, sampled from one of Kawai's acclaimed EX Concert Pianos. Comes with a one year labor/three year parts limited warranty.

I am a nord fan and I have the lead and electro and Iwas planning on buying the stage. I saw that the nord stage won two times mipa as best stage piano but please get real: the mp8 has 192 of polyphony excellent attack, wooden keys I think they really know how to sample pianos love the concert grand two. If you are a piano player dont think more these is the best. Sorry nord, gem, roland and yamaha but the guys at kawai are number one in pianos.
I've been playing the kawai mp9000 (mp8 ancestor) for 15 years. Nevertheless it is still a better stage piano than the state of the art nord piano 3 (released 2016). Well, the sound i.e. the samples are better on the nord, but when it comes to piano-feel the Kawai is unmatched. Unfortunately the realistic feel comes with a downside as the use of actual wooden hammers makes the kawai heavy (35kg) and thus less portable.
Well just my humble opinion.
