Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
The Triton Extreme was the heart and soul of my production for about 4 years. I know Korg very well so I jumped on the M3. It's like the Triton made super convenient. It has the chord/drum pads, the velocity controllers for all 16 tracks, and a few more features for ease of use. The Karma add on takes the place of the triton's standard appegiators. You can add the EXB-RADIAS card rather than buy the Radias module kind of like the EXB-MOSS card for the triton. Only negative is that it comes with quite a few programs (sounds) but you can't use them all at once until you buy the 256MB RAM card solely from Korg or Korg dealers. It?s a minor setback but it is worth it. I know a couple big names in the industry with this one as well.
Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
I've been using Korg gear since the DSS1, and when I decided to FINALLY get rid of my stacks of stuff for one big machine, it came down to the Kurzweil 2661, the Korg M3, Roland Fantom, and Yamaha Motif XS6. I quickly winnowed down to the M3 vs XS6. (Kurzweil was way too expensive for what youget, and the Fantom? It's a Roland - long on Flash, low on depth) I made a complete nuisance of myself at a couple of stores to REALLY dig into both, and the Korg lost out. Why? Sound quality. I don't know what it is, and it is hard to put a finger on it, but the M3 "sounds like plastic". The XS6 has a depth and clarity the M3 doesn't have. The M3 has MASSIVE features - nearly perfect, and lord knows it has a better GUI than XS6. But the quality just isn't there. So, overall, I give it a 4 - way better than average, but not great. A keyboard I DO recommend, just not for me.
Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
I have triton extreme & I makes my own sounds by sampling them from a real instrument But when I used the M3 I was very glad cos I dont haveto make any samples & use the computer plugins to make my songs ,the drum kits are like real also the brass section but I still need my strings samples. I hope i can buy it soon .
Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
Ok, I'm a home studio owner who has owned a Korg Karma, Yamaha Motif ES, and a Roland FantomX, along with a couple of other top notch keyboards, and I've played around with several others over the years, and I must say that based on the functionality of this keyboard, I'm tempted to go get one right now & make the wife mad ("You've bought another keyboard???") Having owned a Karma, I can appreciate the functionality of this keyboard and its capabilities. One of the features I'm most impressed with is the expanded Karma functions & being able to create patterns & sections, and then program / sequence them the way you want. Nice function. And as always, the Korg sounds are incredible. It may not be a full-blown Oasis, but this is the keyboard on my "most wanted" list right now. If you've learned your way around a Korg Karma, then you shouldn't have a problem getting around this keyboard. No, this is probably not a keyboard for a beginner or even a regular gigging musician, but for a songwriter or producer, this keyboard would be a wonderful tool once you learn your way around.
Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
You know what, there are always going to be people who have certain styles, who like to do things their own way, and who will criticize everything. That's inevitable. But this keyboard is truly excellent for the price. I own a Roland V-GT as well, I've played the MOTIF XS, and many other new keyboards in this range, and I've got to say that when you really look at it the M3 is just BETTER. Period. Excellent sound, great controls, (and the screen does GREAT stuff, those videos don't do it justice), KARMA (I have the old KARMA board as well, this is much better). And some of the best FX any synth has ever had. IF you are a PROFESSIONAL, and you want PRO sound but you cant get something that costs many thousands, this is the way to go. It's not easy to use, you've got to LEARN to use it, and when you do there's little you can't do with it. The only modern non-analog production keyboard I prefer to it is the OASYS.
Comments about Korg M3 61-Key Music Workstation Keyboard:
I got this one at my local guitar store but, after using it for a week, I returned it for a loss since they have a restocking fee but that's better than selling it down the road. When I say "it seemed unfinished," I found myself going through menu after menu getting to things. That's why I went back to my S90ES because I found myself playing music again instead of getting distracted by bells and whistles. I had to laugh at the guys in the video who keep proclaiming "it only takes a minute to do this." So know I'll use my software synth to blast out a drum track to my S90ES by throwing it onto a USB key for my S90ES to play. There's more than one way to skin a cat! Before I returned it, I looked into the Motif XS and it seemed a cut above with regards to providing more things I would use. Most likely, I'll stick with the S90ES and start using the features that I ignored in the past.... ;-)
