Since this keyboard derives from Kurzweil PC2, there are additional midi controllers which alter the sound for KME61 too, but they aren't documented in the KME61 manual.
This is the full list:
CC1 = modulation wheel
CC2 = breath
CC4 = Foot-CCPed2
CC6 = Slider C
CC9 = SW2
CC11 = expression
CC12 = SW3
CC13 = Slider D
CC21 = ribbon pitchbend
CC29 = SW5
CC33 = Mpress
CC53 = ribbon pitchbend
CC64 = FtSw1-sustain
CC66 = FtSw2-sostenuto
CC67 = FtSw3-soft
CC91 = Slider A FX-A Depth
CC93 = Slider B FX-B Depth
If you want to know what they do for each of the 256 sounds, you have to look in the PC2 manual (PC2 Programs and Controller Assignments).
And the best part is that you can experience with them as you want in Setup mode.
Another user on another site (epinions.com) said the disadvantage is:
"Burps when switching sounds with long sustain in live performance."
This doesn't happen at all due to long sustain.
It happens only when you switch to a sound which has a different type of effect-FX.
This happens also with some PC audio programs: you hear a burp if there is a sound coming thru an effect unit and you change some parameters to that effect unit.
If you switch from L1(Rez Aah Pad) to L2(Crypt) while playing, you won't hear burps because they have the same FX type (by default), meaning "9. Deep Space".
If you want no burps, then put the same FX type on your preffered sounds.

Shop for a keyboard that has 61 keys with after-touch, midi through, and great acoustic and syth sounds at this price. You will not find any that compair to the Kurzweil KME-61.. if you find any at all. I am surprised how well the data slider can simulate an analog filter sweep on syth pads since this is a Rompler. I have always loved Kurzweil piano and string samples. The syth pads are a free bonus. This KME-61 has more features than my old K1000 had at one-fourth the price, and one-fourth the weight. It has no arpeggiator, or sequencer.. But if you want great sounds at terrific price, get one now ! Thanks for the free and fast shipping.
A REAL nice value! Beautiful pads and synths,good strings and brass.Not real good vocals--but for the price-come on!A Kurzweil for this price is a no brainer.Great for live gigs.Recommended for you people who want quality at bargain basement price!
It sounds great. It has a lot of presets that can be customized with tons of effects. Great Price.
The KME-61 is a great controller for my rack units and other keys... The on-board sounds are top notch Kurzweil quality... I was impressed from the moment I opened the box...
