Comments about M-Audio Keystation 88es Ignite MK2:
I was surprised at how happy I am with this keyboard. It surpassed my expectations.
The keyboard feels solid and the keys have a nice feel but were kind of sluggish at first. After playing it for a while they loosened right up.
All of my programs recognized it right away.
There was an issue with lag but with reducing the buffer size on my programs it was cured with no problem.
BTW.. remember that USB ports have different drivers with a priority status, be aware of this and if you reduce your buffer and start to get dropouts and missed strokes it is time to upgrade your computer.. It is not the keyboards fault.
Remember, the more RAM the better..
This is a midi keyboard, it has No internal sounds. It must be hooked up to a computer and run through an appropriate program to play.
I run this through both Windows 7 and Windows Vista and have no issues what so ever. In fact I noticed that I have been using it as my dominant keyboard as of late.
All of my program changes are done through the computer so I can not comment about it's ability to change programs on the fly...
For an 88 key it is well worth the price but make sure you know how to fix the lag issue or you will not be happy.
