Im not sure what some of these other people have played,,,but my experience with this board has not been good. I purchased this board a few months ago becuase of my financial situation not being good,,,,I am wishing I would have played one of my old junk retired boards,,,First,,,,the sounds DO NOT sound even close to the samples on the web site..The piano sounds are very weak,,,Second,,,It's way to heavy for a stage piano unless your still living in the seventies...You will get tired of lugging it around,,,,Third,,,as much as I like simple controls on my instruments,,,,some of the knobs are to easy to bump while playing or moving around,,,like the pitch change knob,,,sorry but if i had it to do over I would have either bought the Casio or saved a little longer and bought another Kurzweil,,,,,,Would probably be an "ok" home studio unit,,,,not for gigging musicians!!

I've owned this thing for quite a while - too many problems to mention all. The lights all worked only the first day I had it, after that it was only six months before almost all were out. Keys stick, not the key itself but the sound remains on as if it were on a sustain pedal for just that (those) note(s). Also - this thing is a BEAST, you don't want an 80+ lb. piano at 3:00am when you are loading equipment. It was cheaper when I bought it - now there are several in this price range that are much better, go with something that will hold up - don't waste your money.

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

Overall a good starter keyboard for the novice.I am a gigging musician in a small blues, rock, contemp. band and It's served me well in the 2 years I've had it.It weighs 40 lbs so lifting it at 2 in the morning kinda sucks but it's what we do when you love what your doin'.Good keyboard to build your rig around.Pair it up with a hammond xk and an m-audio venom and your good to go for twenty years.
More features than most keyboards in this price range
has some sticky keys or sustainig keys.Quality control could be better
      good bang for the buck

      great keyboard

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

So far I love this piano. My only complaint is that it needs a little more sounds. A beat machine would be nice to have on next model. The keys feel great. Sounds are amazing. It looks beautiful.

      Poor quality

      By Sumn1487

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

As far as the sounds go, they are decent. The electric pianos, clav, and strings are good, though I have never found a use for the organs. The feel of the wieghted keys is good as well. I never moved the board around too much because it is so heavy. I mostly used it as a controller and kept it in the studio. After about a year of playing it, some notes started randomly sustaining, and now the middle C produces no sound at all. So don't induce from the wieght of the board that it must be durable and sturdy. The warranty has expired and I have no use for a keyboard with randomly sustaining notes and no middle C.

      Inexpensive controller solution

      By Sing2me

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

The onboard sounds are OK and the piano sound is healthy for the price. The biggest gripe I have with this board is that the action at times feels very "plunky" and doesn't play with a lot of sensitivity. If you are doing critical soft synth (especially strings) programming, then I would think twice about this board. If your MIDI input is limited, or simply needed for notation input, then you've got a good board for the price.

Hey, please read my whole review, it will help!

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

I am a professional; I play, on average (not including studio time), five times per week. I play for everybody, everywhere. So heres the idea. This keyboard is awesome, it really is. I was given these keys to test for M- Audio, and they perform stellar. Do I use them personally no, cause I have endorsements and I use their products. If you are a musician trying to get out in the real game, this is a great board to do it with. The price is insanely inexpensive for the options. It plays like a acoustic piano and the sounds are dead on, so don't let the "you get what you pay for" mentality ruin this opportunity for you! Buy this board save your money for accessories. Get the Behringer Truth (2031a) Active Monitors, and then a good pair of headphones. Practice day and night plug this baby into your computer and record something nice, sit back and enjoy. You can take this however you want, I usually take it however I can get it! Stub up don't take sound advice or give it a try, this doesn't help me, it will help you!

      It's good

      By Robert-Rs2PL

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

The sound is identical to a Yamaha C7, the C7 is a 7' 10" bulky piano and does not sound bright.I recommend you to listen to the samples at m-audio.com . if you need a brighter piano use the layer and select piano 1 and transpose it to the 12 octave and you have a nice bright tone as a kawai grand. In my opinion is the best at this price. it feels like the real thing, good if you are on a budget. if you need to move it regulary, better get the SX, this one is heavy. I needed a stage piano not a keyboard so 14 sounds is more than I wanted, if you need more buy a keyboard. It has a USB port and that's a big plus, as a midi controler is fantastic tool.

As a lot of other people have said...this keyboard is nice, but does in fact weigh a lot...it's extremely heavy...but solid...I love it personally...it's exactly what I was looking for. Not something amazing, yet not something cheap...it's a really really good standard keyboard...if you carry your equipment around with you a lot...I don't recommend getting this, but if your looking to keep it somewhere for a while and learn off it, than this keyboard was meant for you

Only if it's the last keyboard on earth...

      By Jason Lester

      from Amarillo, TX

Comments about M-Audio ProKeys 88 Stage Piano and MIDI Controller:

When I heard the piano and instrument samples online, I could hardly wait to get the keyboard in. Turns out the worst sounds on the keyboard are by far are the grand piano and the organ. The electric pianos are decent and the strings are usable, but all in all the keyboard is terrible. The one thing I do like about the keyboard is the layout. It is very simple and effective for stage use, but since it sounds so bad it won't actually get used. Save your money and buy a yamaha, korg, or roland.
