Moog

All-analog synth incorporating virtually all of the functions of the original Minimoog plus modern enhancements.

The Moog Minimoog Voyager Synth incorporates virtually all of the sound resources and functions of the original Model D Minimoog, which was in production from 1970 to 1982. It has a 3D touch surface, MIDI IN and MIDI OUT implementation, extensive patching facilities, and several new panel features.

The Moog Voyager synthesizer's gorgeous solid ash fractal blue cabinet flashes blue flecks when you get close and looks fabulous with the electric blue backlit panel. The original Minimoog synthesizer was produced from 1971 to 1984 and was featured in some of the greatest recordings of all time. 3 ultra-stable oscillators, dual Moog filters, 4-stage analog envelope generators, flexible modulation buses, and much much more. The Moog Voyager won a "Key Buy" award from Keyboard magazine, a "Platinum Award" from Future Music magazine, an "Excellence Award" from Music Tech magazine, a TEC award from Mix magazine, and the "2003 Editor's Choice Award" from Electronic Musician magazine.

The Moog synth's large touch-surface controller with assignable parameters for each direction. This monophonic performance instrument has gutsy vintage sound and features a 44-note keyboard with pitch and mod wheels, MIDI I/O, and a buffer that holds 2 presets at a time. CV and gate inputs for additional modulation options with expression pedals or other voltage sources. Audio input and effects insert allow you to interface with other gear. Stereo analog outs and headphone outs plus BNC connector for optional gooseneck lamp. The Minimoog Voyager has 128 easily modified presets modeled after sounds used by Rick Wakeman, Tony Banks, Keith Emerson, and others give you instant access to classic Moog tone plus modern bass and lead sounds.

The Moog Minimoog Voyager synth's signal path starts with a bank of 3 wide-range, high-stability, voltage-controlled oscillators, one noise source, and one audio preamplifier for externally applied audio signals. The sound modifiers are 2 'Moog-style' low-pass filters and one VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier). Modulation sources are 2 ADSR (Attack Decay Sustain Release) envelope generators and one multi-waveform LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator). Frequency, octave, and wave controls are married with a switch that syncs oscillators 1 and 2, frequency modulation of oscillator 1 by oscillator 3, drone function for oscillator 3, and a switch to lower oscillator 3 to the sub-audio range. The synthesizer's mixer module features 5 input level controls, 5 input switches, and external level LED. Filters module features choice of 2-pole or 4-pole response, cutoff control, spacing control, resonance control, and control of how much the filters open and close as you press different keys on the keyboard. Envelopes module features amount to filter control and envelope gate switch. LFO features rate control, sync selector, and rate LED. Modulation buses feature source, destination, and shaping selectors plus amount controls. MIDI capabilities include front panel storage and recall, control of front panel through MIDI, transmission of front-panel settings via MIDI, transmission and reception of keyboard data via MIDI, up- and downloading of banks of settings via MIDI, and updating of software via MIDI. The power supply accepts any power voltage from 100V to 240V.

Just Amazing...

By Joe-LjViJ

Comments about Minimoog Voyager Electric Blue Analog Synthesizer:

The Voyager Electric Blue is expensive, no doubt about it. I was hesitant to spend so much on a monophonic synth. However, after taking the plunge and purchasing one, it became clear to me that this is without a doubt worth every penny.First of all, the build quality is fantastic. The keyboard action is really nice. The mod wheels, knobs and switches are all smooth. The overall fit and finish of this product is absolutely top notch. The electric blue backlight is amazing. Really, really beautiful feature, and in my opinion worth the extra money. The cabinet mostly looks black, if you look closely, there are some specks of blue but it is a subtle effect. The sound is beyond words. Just amazing. I have heard some people call this synth "thin," which is pretty crazy, since in my experience, this thing is FAT sounding. Hands down the best synth bass sounds I have ever heard. There are 8 banks of presets. The manual is clearly written and helps you understand exactly what you are doing with each knob turn. This is the kind of gear that you will keep for the rest of your life. Moog really did a great job with this one!
