      Roland

The return of a legendary bass tweaker.

Based on the wildly influential TB-303, the TB-3 Touch Bassline is a performance-ready bass synth with meticulously authentic sound and intuitive controls engineered to play.

Nobody could have anticipated what would happen to the world of dance music when Roland’s now-legendary TB-303 was embraced by inventive musicians on both sides of the Atlantic, and has been a staple of electronic music since the 1980’s. It is the defining sound of Acid House and has since been the marquis instrument on an array of groundbreaking electronic dance tracks. It’s not only been used to write songs, but it has songs written about it. In fact, the release of the TB-303 has been heralded as one the key events in the history of dance music.

      The Sound
Launched in 1981, the TB-303 continues to be an indispensable bass synth for dance music. Roland has meticulously analyzed the circuitry of the TB-303 piece-by-piece and down to the individual circuit behavior.

Using Analog Circuit Behavior technology Roland was able to fully reproduce both the saw-tooth and square wave oscillators as well as the -18dB/octave ladder low pass filter used in the original TB-303, capturing that unmistakable cutoff and resonance character.

In addition to the faithful reproductions of classic TB tones, the TB-3 is packed with 134 sounds that live and breathe. Bubbling synth basses, hard distortion basses, trippy delay sounds and drippy effects. They’re all here - and then some.

      The Feel
A TB bass line not only sounds unique, but it has its own trademark feel as well. The TB pulses, drives, bubbles and percolates. Roland worked hard to faithfully recreate the Accent, Slide, and Step Sequencer behavior of the original unit.

The truth is, the step entry on the original TB-303 was difficult to use, the keyboard was difficult to play, and special maneuvers were required for the shuffle functions. So Roland has enhanced the features on the TB-3 to overcome these challenges and have created the optimal TB interface.

Comments about Roland AIRA TB-3 Touch Bassline:

      Simply awesome sound quality.
Simple to use yet produces serious musical results. Made extremely well and very intuitive to learn.
If your considering anything in this series of gear, this is a must have unit, especially if you already have or are preparing to get the tr8.
You can't buy just one. It's too much fun and once you experience two or more of these synchronized and passing through and controlling each other..
You will be caught in the web of extreme fun and intuitive song creation. Only bad thing about these units, is once you've started, it's very hard to stop playing them.
If your interest has already been appealed to...
Get it! You won't regret it. Then get the ones you don't already have. These things will open creative doors you didn't know existed.
Just like my other review ... I have to say...
Don't miss out...... Don't miss out!
Everyone around you could end up with the same gear and still, none of you would sound the same.
They are that dynamic and all have very large ranges to push those dynamics within.
Unlimited amounts of serious, serious fun.
      Just do it!
People will wonder why you can't stop smiling.
We all owe it to ourselves, to have a new way of finding that perfect style and sound.
If these don't do it for you.....you probably don't need any more gear.
And for the cost?!? Don't be fooled ... These are not toys. Although, they might make you feel young again ...... Get 'em all......and be free.
I know I am. Not a single doubt about it.
Take the leap! You can always return it.
      But you won't..... Promise!
Fun fun fun...... Not many things produce well and are fun to use. Still haven't needed to look at the manual. It's that intuitive.
      You've been warned.
      Don't miss out!

      Alright...... Enjoy
      And thank yourself later.

      Thank you Roland!

Back to work....I mean play .....I mean work...I mean fun...... You'll see! Good luck tearing yourself away from it....
      That's all.

Comments about Roland AIRA TB-3 Touch Bassline:

I've never owned my own bass synthesizer before and it is great. I love experimenting with this thing, creating different patterns, and using the effects to suit the kind of song i'm writing.

The touchscreen is very responsive, and it is very easy to program. I would recommend it to any one. I like a lot of old 90's electronic music like and this suits my needs quite nicely
