great keyboard, only a few complaints

By TheReviewer-1cUKl

from North Carolina

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

The Roland FP-7 is exactly what you would expect from a high-class instrument. The weighted keys respond terrifically, the speakers sound great, and the versatility of it is really quite amazing. I only have a few complaints.. The processor can only take around 40 notes at any given time, and i happen to overload that capacity quite often (by holding down the sustain pedal and playing multiple notes over a chord). The grand piano sound COULD see some improvement, but overall this is a satisfying buy.

Awesome

By RipcurlNg

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

I got this keyboard for my studio and it is ridiculous. The feel on this keyboard is unparalleled. What an amazing keyboard, I'm so happy i got it and thought people should know. The piano sound isn't the best in the world, but there's no way anybody with a normal ear could have any problems. I run it through a plug in and the sound is great. That being said, the organ, elec key, and drum sounds are great. I ALWAYS play with the elec key sound, it's amazing. This is definitely a great product if you have the money and want a keyboard that you will use for the rest of your life.

Best Bass sounds

By Thejazzman

from Hartford, CT

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

I was told early on I'm a left handed keyboard player. Providing bass lines and comping chords is my thing. While the essential keyboard sounds are all great,I was drawn to the FP7 for the bass sounds. I've heard or read Roland samples the sounds some 100 times. While I play rock and jazz, the acoustic bass sound is killer. You'd swear an upright player was in the room, especially when you play this thru an amp.If you also hold down the bass parts in your work, this maybe the keyboard for U too.

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

This Keyboard has the best action of any other digital piano on the market by far. I give all my piano lesson on this thing. Whenever I use it to play live I always get compliments on the sound as well. The speakers are amazing too. I just can't say enough about this piano. It has given me countless hours of joy and is the center of my musical career. Get It!!

Incredible musical instrument!

By Jazz Lover

from Denver

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

This instrument is far and away the finest digital piano I have ever played. The acoustic and electric piano sounds are absolutely second to none, and the configurable tone wheel organ sounds remind me of the days when I was playing real Hammonds. The drum kits are quite authentic as well if you're looking to do some sequencing. I must admit that I was initially quite disappointed in some of the string sounds, particularly the selection of very bad acoustic and electric guitar sounds. Also, the woodwind sounds on the FP7 are extremely weak, even when compared with my old Yamaha PSR530. But I didn't buy the FP7 for the guitar sounds; I have guitars for that. If you're looking for an instrument with authentic piano hammer action and incredible piano, organ, and/or percussion sounds at a good price, look no further than the Roland FP7. It's the only product I've ever bought in its price range that hasn't caused me so much as a milisecond of buyer's remorse!

Best Hammer Action

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

I've owned the FP7 for a couple of months now and can report the hammer action is second to none - even besting Roland's "top of the line" RD700SX. Other features are very good, though not as strong as might be hoped for from a product of this expense. Ability to record MIDI directly to a USB flash drive is a real convenience. If you don't need a sampler and do want a keyboard that feels like a grand piano, the FP7 is for you. Looks great on Roldand's KSV7 V-stand.

FP-7: Well worth the wait!

By Pete-LvvrJ

from WEST RUTLAND, VT

Comments about Roland FP-7 Digital Piano:

I took my time shopping for a digital stage piano, and I must say that my ultimate choice, the Roland FP-7, was well-worth the wait! The keyboard action is very 'authentic,' and the hammer-action on the keys gives the instrument the feel of a true acoustic piano. But while the keyboard feels great, the instrument SOUNDS incredible! It is very easy to choose from among the many high-quality voices, and I love how easy it is to mix piano with strings and/or voices. The built-in speakers are more than adequate for home use.My personal favorite piano is the Grand Piano, mixed with Rich strings. What a sound! The organ voices can mimic everything from a B-3 type sound to a fairly authentic VOX Continental (they call it a 60's organ), and it's' a simple matter to vary the electronic 'rotary' speaker sound, which does a fairly good job of reproducing the old Leslie speaker sound.I opted to get the Roland V-stand, too, which gives the instrument a very awesome look, and it's a very sturdy platform, too.I use the instrument here at home, and it will be a very welcome addition to my home studio. I can't wait to do some sequencing with this instrument!
