Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
This is my first Roland board. It sounds great in the studio however it sounds terrible live. The synths will blow you away and the organs are pretty decent too. I will be selling mine for a used Yamaha Motif or new MM6 even...
Pros:
1.Lightweight.
2.Media player built in for playing tracks live or practicing to music.
3.Better feeling keybed than others at this price.
4.Excellent synths.I don't think you will find anything better especially at this price. It is chocked full of samples in that area.
5.Better sounding organs for a keyboard at this price.
6.Some extreamly strange sounds such as "Meditation Piano" that are fun to experiment with.
7.You can set custom presets for realling your sounds quickly and easliy.
8. Comes with software for editing sounds.
9 Functions such as the D-Beam are very customizable.
Cons:
1.Needs to be EQ'ed for your live situation to effectivly cut through the mix for even being heard at a decent volume.
2. Pianos, wurlitzers, brass sections, rhodes leave something to be desired next the the Yamaha MM or MO series.
3. All the pianos are WAY TOO DARK sounding for live applications.
Feels better than all the other keyboards at this price. Chocked full of excellent synths from the original Juno and Jupiter series. Great feeling keybed.
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
I was looking to buy a synth to supplement my piano lessons and also channel my inner Pet Shop Boys.
I like the fact that they use analog knobs for Volume and Sound Modify; this is way better than sliding controls as it gives me a better "feel" when making adjustments on the fly. The keyboard action is not even close to that of weighted piano keys, but then, it's a synth. My generic pedal did not work on it, so I had to buy a Roland pedal. (Was that done on purpose?)
The Juno Di is rather light, so it tended to slide around on my run-of-the-mill "X" keyboard stand (I play while standing, not sitting down). To solve this problem, I cut a piece of plywood slightly larger than the Juno Di's footprint (but small enough to fit in my gig bag), painted it black to match, and placed it on the stand to serve as a platform for the keyboard. This trick also worked great for a smaller 49-key MIDI controller that was also too small to put on a stand.
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
I love my Juno Di. I gig with this board because if I lost it or some drunk bar patron crashed into it or spilled a beer on it, I could deal with replacing it. Not so with my $3000 Motif XS7 or a FantomG or similar board. That would be catastrophic. So it's a board that takes some cautious but extensive road use and does a great job at it.
More features than most will ever need or use or find. This board goes deep for the money.
Awesome Sound Bank, Music File Playback, real time sound manipulation - (filter/reso, reverb, Attack, Release, etc), D-beam, split, layer, super layer features, editor software, playlist software, I could go on and on....
It doesn't have the "feel" of a higher end instrument - the keyboard is a bit toy-ish, it is a very lightweight board - which is good for transport, not so good for "staying put" on the stand while playing it...because it's so light, it doesn't take much for it to start to travel across your keyboard stand. I've gotten around this with good ol' velcro however.
Now, all this being said, the knobs and dials and buttons are all very sturdy and have a good feel to them, and I've been gigging with it for a little over a year without any issues. So, with a small amount of care and caution, I cannot say I have too much issue with "quality" other than the feel and weight of the instrument.
There is simply no better value for an all-around instrument such as this.

Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
Ok, I am not much of a keyboard player but I decided to get one to add some depth to my music. I didn't want to pay a lot, so I went for this (those $400 microKORG synths are like toys). For the money, it's a wonderful little synth. Lightweight, easy to move, easy to use, and a lot of interesting sounds. Piano sounds are not great but that can be changed with the sound editor. That program is AWESOME! This synth will send you on your way
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
The Roland Juno Di recently made it into my gear stash. All in all it's a very good keyboard for it's price range. It's very much a synth as opposed to a workstation- designed for playing rather than creating. The synth leads I find to be the best tones the keyboard has. Some of the other tones, especially pianos and synth pads (no lush, ethereal, ambient pads like those found on the Korg M50)I find a bit lacking, but with the included editor software, you can easily bring them up to snuff. It's not a great keyboard for new age electronica, which is pretty much my genre, so I don't recommend it for that genre. However, it is good for pop, dance and progressive. Effects are good, keyboard action is good for a synth. The value can't be beat.
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
The DI is a great keyboard, holds great realistic sounds and it performs well for its price. Def. a great upgrade to the Juno-D. I own several keyboards and this one is probably the best one for its price range. Not too heavy, very easy to use and the sounds are awesome.
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
This is a great little synth!! It's got just about all my needs covered. My only big beef is the keyboard action, but really that's the way a synth is supposed to feel... and its good for playing organs. I'll have to go get something with 88 weighted keys (ie: Korg SP 250) for my acoustic piano stuff. My other beef, a smaller one, is the terrible manual... its really not much help in my opinion. Aside from that, most everything is good. I love the overall look of this board. That whole retro route Roland decided to take is awesome. The display is nice as well. The patches are all great... and if you dont think they are great... first you use the 5 modify knobs, then you go to the menu and add some effects and adjust some more parameters, and if its still not enough you go try to install that editor software onto your computer!! The majority of the pianos (acoustic and electrics) are pretty good.. but me, having taken classical piano lessons for some 6 years on a hardman parlor grand, that action doesn't feel right to play piano on. The hammonds are pretty amazing. That was a major factor in purchasing a board, was how the hammonds sounded. There are good and bad, but mainly good. Some of them have absolutely FABULOUS leslie simulation, including using the modulation lever for speeding and slowing. Of course a hammond clone would be ideal, but really the only advantages that has over this is the real "feel" of the B3... because the sound is there. I wish there were some more Vox or Farfisias though. The pipe organs are cool also. I use the basses a lot for school concert and jazz band, and they are awesome too. The synths are perfect... all completely editable and you can get some wacky sounds. love the saws and the brasses. My mother absolutely is obsessed with the vocal patches and orchestral... she was a classical pianist back in the day, and this thing has nearly rekindled her interest. So overall, I would say this is an absolutely wonderful board in this price-range. But dont be fooled by the mid lever price... its got high level sound.
Comments about Roland JUNO-Di Synthesizer Keyboard:
over all this is a good unit only a few this I would have liked would have been that unit recharges batteries when its plug up not having to take them out also more control on sound esp/drums no rolls, ending nothing just on and off, I've got a roland gw7 which I still use as my main board but this works well on the go for live proformances
