All the performance and production control you need to get the most out of your music software.

Graphite 49’s semi-weighted keyboard provides you with a responsive and expressive platform that is designed to feel more like an instrument than a controller. It comes equipped with velocity-sensitive keys that accurately capture the dynamics of a performance. Aftertouch offers customizable control over a variety of effects and parameters, for example the addition of growl to a saxophone or vibrato to strings. With 49 keys, the Graphite 49’s pitch range is perfect for performing while remaining highly portable.

It's also very easy to use. With dedicated Transpose and Octave buttons, you can change the key of any given instrument, as well as expand the keyboard to a full 4-octave range, without using any sub menus or shift keys. With all of these comprehensive features, not to mention classic Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels, the Graphite 49 puts a wide range of musical expression and tone manipulation at your fingertips.

The Graphite 49's nine faders, eight encoders and 16 buttons are all customizable for the ultimate in hands-on control over your favorite DAW software. Not only are they customizable, they can be programmed on the fly without the need for editor software. The large LCD screen displays the behavior of every function in real time, giving you intuitive mapping with any software you’re using. Another way you can make the Graphite 49 truly your own is to utilize up to 4 zones on the keyboard for creating splits and layering sounds. This function allows different sounds to be assigned to different sections of keys for a completely personalized setup. With the keyboard divided into sections, the Graphite 49 lets you control two, three or four unique voices simultaneously. Record your bass, string, pad, and lead tones all to a single track and leave room for your creative ideas to run wild.

Get Trigger Happy
The four large velocity-sensitive trigger pads on the Graphite 49 can be easily programmed and assigned. Use them to tap out drum beats, cue one-shot samples or start and stop sequences. Expand your options further with a second bank of triggers, bringing the total to eight. With such versatility, the trigger pads are a vital performance and recording feature of the Graphite 49.

Elements of design
With a compact body design that is thinner than most controllers in its class, it's perfect for live performance or studio applications. It's constructed for optimal playability whether it's placed on a solid surface or mounted to a keyboard stand. And its sleek, angled top panel offers easy viewing in any environment.

On-the-go with the iPad
When combined with the iPad using Apple’s iPad Camera Connection Kit, the Graphite 49 is a great tool for making music wherever and whenever you want. Use it with your favorite music and synth iPad apps that support MIDI controllers. For additional mobility, the Graphite 49 can be powered directly by the iPad when you are away from your desktop computer so you can go outside if you need some quiet time or a different environment for inspiration.

Graphite comes KOMPLETE
Bundled with the Graphite 49, Native Instrument’s KOMPLETE ELEMENTS software offers a comprehensive selection of studio-quality sounds, effects and tools for modern music production, composition and sound design. With over 3GB of samples, KOMPLETE ELEMENTS provides you with more than 1,000 premium sounds and three mighty player engines - all carefully compiled to provide a strong toolkit for both stage and studio. Comments about Samson Graphite 49 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

I was a little hesitant in purchasing this based on the mixed bag of reviews I've read, but after a lot of research, I took a shot. I'm glad I did. There was no damage, and the build quality was better than expected. This is a heavy midi controller. The semi weighted keys is what I've expected, fine. The program mapping was great for Ableton. In reading the comments, the big complaint posted were the zippy knobs. For me; I like them. I have an Akai APC 40, and for me, the knobs on the graphite 49 is really what I wanted. I like the tighter control as the quick sweep on APC 40 was too much, which forced me to pay closer attention to what I was doing. In a nutshell, I would say that it all depends on what you use it for. The Graphite 49 is packed with stuff and you pay half the cost for something like MPK49. The only complaint I have, which is minor are that most buttons are not backlit. For the money, I can live with that.

Comments about Samson Graphite 49 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

I bought this because it looked like a very versatile and feature-packed controller for the price, but upon trying it out I absolutely hated the "zippery" knobs. They make it impossible to do smooth filter motions, etc. They feel terrible to use and aren't musical-feeling at all. I have an old E-MU Xboard controller that's cheaper (now discontinued sadly) that has actual smooth and fluid knobs, so I don't know what they were thinking with these. The Axiom 49 also has similar clicky piece of junk knobs. Who is making these decisions.

I decided that maybe I could use the sliders or mod wheel instead, but upon quickly moving the controls I noticed that the motion would "block up" and wasn't smooth. It seems like the firmware inside doesn't update quick enough or is too low-resolution or something. With slow movement it's fine, but if you move them too quickly, things degrade fast.

I really wanted to love this controller and use it for a long time, but it's pretty much un-playable.
