I am taking music classes at college and wanted an upgrade from my old chinsey piano to practice and play on. I wanted something nice, but being a poor college student, I also needed something affordable. So I did my research and the Williams Overture looked like my best bet. I have had this for a few months now and am extremely pleased with it. It has a great sound and playability, and the weighted keys have a great feel. The velocity sensitivity is a bit temperamental, but it is adjustable to fit your playing style. The built in 2-track recording is great for recording ideas for songs I'm writing before I forget them. The connectivity is also quite nice. You can plug your ipod into the line in and play along. And the usb makes it very easy to record. Just plug into your computer, open garage band and push the big red button, and bam you're recording. If you want to spend more money on a keyboard, there are certainly better ones out there. But this is hands down the best digital piano within it's price range.

Due to the issues I discussed in the Quality section, and after sending back the first one, I reluctantly got a refund for this guy. At first I thought it great that I found a fully-weighted 88 key digital piano for so cheap, but as I mentioned in Value: You get what you pay for. I'll be looking elsewhere and will spend a bit more to ensure quality in my instrument in the future.

If you can live with touch sensitivity issues and are on a tighter budget, then this piano is probably something for you. Otherwise I'd recommend spending a little more.
The biggest fault of this is the touch sensitivity. The first issue is that despite having four touch sensitive options, they all sound more-or-less the same. This isn't a huge problem though. The much larger issue is the fact that of the two pianos of this brand I had, the white keys were not very touch sensitive. If you play a black key, you can range from very quiet to very loud. Play a white key and it'll only play a little softer, no matter how lightly you depress the key.

The biggest flaw I encountered, and why I tried a second piano, was because I had to return the first one due to a large defect: If you played the same key in rapid succession, it wouldn't sound the note half the time. This made a lot of music unplayable.
I'd say that you get what you pay for on this one. It is a digital piano with 88 weighted keys and three pedals, and doesn't look to shabby in a room either. However, the nuances with the touch sensitivity are something you will have to deal with if you're cutting costs when purchasing a digital piano in this case.

Comments about Williams Overture 88 Key Digital Piano:

I didn't want my daughter to learn to play piano on either of the the midi keyboards that I already owned, since their keys did not have action close to that of a real piano. I was hoping that the Overture 88-key digital piano would have realistic samples and appropriately weighted keys - and my hopes were met nicely! Certainly, if you are willing to spend over 2 grand on a truly high end piano, you can find better key action, but for a thousand or less the Overture is the best digital piano that I've found. Great for beginner to intermediate players or multi-instrumentalists like me. Has the standard three piano pedals, a midi output for playing soft synths and a headphone jack for night practice. It's also beautiful and extremely portable (best for living room use - only gig with it if you have a large van and two people to move it since the stand is not removeable). This is a great buy, in my opinion.

Better than expected for the price, doesnt take a lot of space, if not loooking for anything grand, this is the best choice. The sound is almost the same as a real piano, plus has other settings which is great.

The cord that goes into the electrical socket is short. It came with instructions to put together. Also, came with music. Nice price with coupon. Ship to house in two days. Packaged very well when it was shipped. Nice volume. The metronume is handy to have for a new student. The recording is a plus to have. Only had it a week but will keep you updated if I have any issues with it.
