Comments about Yamaha P-155 Contemporary Digital Piano:
Musicians Friend screwed me on this one that made me waste more of my time writing a review to get it off my chest. First ordering it was full of promises that didn't delivery (gift cert wasn't applied). Called back to have it applied and was told I'd get 15% off the total as well - never saw it. Still waiting on the 150% price match guarantee - we'll see what happens. So far...1 hr on phone between being on hold and such. Rec'd the digi piano and there is a stuck key (maybe a restock was sent??) and had to call them again. They have to wait until they get this one back and then send another one out. So I'm out a couple hours of time and patience at this point. I always had good things to say about MF to my students and parents alike but looks like they may be going downhill with their support.
As for the digi piano, overall nice digital piano and should make anyone happy. Looks nice, feels solid and has great sound with headphones or other speaker system. The built in speakers sound ok (nothing like headphones) and are more of a convenience feature.

Comments about Yamaha P-155 Contemporary Digital Piano:
This is a great piano with very realistic sounds. It has a lot more useful functions like recording that can be helpful for learning. I got this for my son who is learning piano. He loves it. Besides that, it is portable so we can take it to performances.
Comments about Yamaha P-155 Contemporary Digital Piano:
The P-155 is and does what the literature claims. From my somewhat knowledgable user's perspective I can hear where the unit is "optimized." It certainly sounds more like a real piano - which is what I needed - than say a P-85 or P-95 or similar Casio-type unit. The 4 levels of dynamics work very well from ppp to fz. The damper pedal does indeed bring in a 'singing' effect of the strings as in a real instrument - nice. The surprise goodies are the other instruments on board. Each and all are delightful, though again I wish the wave geeks would really listen to violins - they don't pulse. I like that some of the acoustic and ambience effects are adjustable by using the Function programming. The P-155 does not help me consider a Yamaha Grand (acoustic) piano though because of the optimizing for the standard 12W amp and speakers, and I think because the "electronic wave engineers" fiddled too much with the sampled sounds. Plugging the P-155 into a quality stereo system (which is what I do - thankful for the real output jacks) gets to more of the true nature of the instrument's sound, and I had to do some equalizing (especially lowering the bass) to get it to more closely match the fairly good grand piano which it sits next to and is used with (for 2 piano practice and teaching). Perhaps the Acoustic Grand people should be in charge of the final sound. For the price, it is definitely worth considering the P-155 over a P-95. And, would someone make a pedal that matches the height and spring tension of a real piano - please. Given the current state of technology, Yamaha could probably make an electronic keyboard that is only a piano, and sounds extremely close to the real thing. Yes, it would cost more, but maybe some of us out here need that.
This is a superbly built keyboard - heavier than I expected (that's ok) and even the key sensitivity seems equal across all 88. It does what is supposed to, performing flawlessly. The "Function" section is a little fussy to get used to, perhaps clearer instructions would help, but hooray the functions are there! The key action could be adjusted to be more like a real grand (please), especially extremely fast repetition of the same note (doesn't do that), and did the engineers actually measure the pressure(s) required on a real grand? These might be very minor points for most people who would use this keyboard - I'm just fussy. The action is certainly better than other 'lesser' keyboards.
I waited for a special sale price - everyone should try to do that. It's well worth what I paid for it.
Comments about Yamaha P-155 Contemporary Digital Piano:
This is our first DP, I must say we LOVE IT. The hammer action is very realistic (even on the heavy side, most like a grand piano). Sound is very good and the touch sensitivity is good too.
