Good, nicely designed chairs, very good value, rather annoying quality control problems with non-central aspects. I will note that if these are shipped long distances the way they are currently packaged, there may be a high risk of more severe damage than mine suffered, with attendant hassles.
They are everything advertised ... no arms to get in the way of instrument necks, high straight backs, nice cushioning and fabric, smooth glider action, nice wood. A small word of warning is that if you plan on spending a lot of time in it watching videos, you may find a relaxed position more comfortable, but that is not their intended purpose.
We have some quality control issues on non-central points, but a lack of control is obvious. Most importantly the foot pads between the wood and your precious wood floor seem to be an afterthought with no attention to their importance. First, they are skimpy, but the real problem is that they are installed with long staples, terribly applied. Of the eight pads on my two chairs, six staples still protruded above the pads, one almost missed the pad and bridged the area that is supposed to contact the floor, and only one of the eight was centered in the recessed area and properly sunk. I replaced all eight with more generous pads from Lowe's. The whole operation took about an hour. You have to be careful about damaging the legs when removing the staples, and despite the "tap-in" promise of the replacements, I had to drill starter holes. Again, the first time you try to slide these chairs across your wood floor, watch out!
Second is the packaging. The chair tops are dismounted from the glider bottom, and four bolts and washers are supposed to be included, presumably in the plastic bag stapled to the chair that contains the instructions. Well, you don't need the instructions, but in one of the boxes, three of the bolts were wondering homeless, while the other bolt and four washers had escaped thru one of the gouges in the shipping box. On one of the vertical chair back supports, there was a gouge about one half inch long. Both shipping boxes were violated. None of these problems made me want to send them back, but if I'd purchased them locally, I'd have wanted replacements. So, I conclude that precious little quality control is applied to shipping, and the chairs themselves should be wrapped in some of that dense bubble foam. The only assembly issue is that it's possible to mount the chair tops backwards, so pay just a little common sense attention.
A Musician's Friend sale made these attractive, after having noticed them maybe 10 years ago. Free shipping clinched the deal. Note that it is rare for Musician's friend to ship free to Alaska, or any of the US out-lying areas. Anyway, I'm happy with them and the price. I am not sure I couldn't have found a competing value locally, but again, no buyer's regret whatsoever.

I've had mine for years now. And I've been wanted to sell mine off for a Benjamin for some time now. The concept is good, the material used for the foam cushion is poor and the height of the chair is wrong. I'm a hair over 6' with a good 33" inseam for my trousers, meaning, fairly long legs, but when I sit on this chair I have 0 amount of raised leg to cradle the guitars crook in a classical guitar playing position. I still need to get a foot stool which does not bode well with the inherent action of rocking. The design flaw is there so no wonder they also offer a pricey foot stool companion. Other complaint is that when I get up from the chair the seat cushion does not rebound well. You have to fluff up the cushion so it doesn't look saggy and smooshed, like it's much older than it is. And this was observable from day one. If those two issues don't bother you, go ahead and get one. I don't see any other issues that I did not like about the chair (except lack of lumbar support), but for me those add up to a deal I wish I'd passed on. If they've addressed those issues (which I somehow doubt) I'd retract. My next adventure will be to try out "The Original Guitar Chair". As long as I select the right height, it will eliminate the leg posture issue and looks like it will provide better lumbar support. Plus it will break down for storage or transport.

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

I bought this chair maybe 4-5 years ago to replace an armed glider, which made playing bass tricky. The only complaint is I had to supply a couple of screws. I also need to apply WD40 to the glider mechanisms periodically. I love it though. It's comfy and makes playing fun.

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

Came in timely manner. Packing leaves alot to be desired but have recieved furniture from other companied with similar packing so was not surprised. There was not enough washers to assemble the chair. This seems to be a common complaint in the reviews. If the company would use a heavier bag than a thin sandwich bag to pack the bolts and washers in there may be less loss.

This chair rocks, actually it glides. I've wanted one for some time now so I broke down and got one. It's perfect for jamming when your playin your acoustic. And when you need to sit to either play, practice or whatever it's the most comfortable of chairs I have found as of yet. It's one of the best investments I have made for this hobby of mine. The only problem I've got with it is that it's a little pricey.

      Review from the screened porch

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

Great product. Use mine in our screened porch. Has proved comfortable for playing several hours at a time. I use a separate footrest. Glide motion makes it very relaxing.Chair arrives in 2 parts. The top part screws to the base - very quick and easy assembly. I used a little wood glue just to make sure it lasted. I weigh 195lb and the chair is fine for me.I discovered the chair in the demo room at a local guitar store - their's looked in good shape despite hard daily use.Thinking of buying a second for when friends visit.

I got this chair as a gift for my fiance. He previously used a tall desk chair without armrests for guitar practice. He wanted something more attractive and sturdy with better posture support, especially because he has always been struggling with poor back and shoulder posture in general and always wants to find ways to improve his guitar playing - better support definitely helps. Although it took a little getting used to, he loves this chair and believes he is already seeing improvement. The green cushions are a great color and great quality fabric as well.

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

As a life-long guitar player, I have been looking for a chair that would help with some health issues that I have. I bought this chair because I have sciatica which has affected my balance. Since receiving the chair my pain and balance have improved tremendously! I love it so much I bought one for my wife (to keep the peace)! Style and comfort all rolled into one. A modification that would improve a nearly perfect chair is two small straps with snaps to anchor the back cushion to the frame and wheels so I can use it in every room of my house.

After I contacted Musicians Friend with frustration over certain quality aspects of this product, their customer service department was gracious in replacing the chair at their cost, which we have been pleased with. However, we still note issues with the shipping in which parts were shipped loose inside the box, and the box was not well sealed. Hopefully these concerns will filter down to the appropriate department and more care will be taken to avoid this situation in the future.

The angle at which the manufacturer has set the back makes the chair quite uncomfortable. I had to add shims beneath the front to mitigate the problem. Whereas I like the concept of the chair, the actuality makes the experience not one I would choose to repeat.

I have nothing bad to say about this chair. It's very comfortable, even though you're sitting up straight. it's solidly-built, and it looks great. I usually stand while performing, and when I play at home I usually just walk around the house with a guitar strapped on, so sitting in a chair is not my normal m.o. But I find that I play for longer periods of time now that I have a place to sit.

Try to carch it on sale, and you won't regret it.
Solid wood, thick cushions, and srong, industrial type webbing supporting the bottm cushion.
                      Well-built.
A little pricey, but you get what you pay for (and more)

Great chairs, but not without issues

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

Comments about Pick N Glider Musician's Chair:

This is the only armless glider I have seen. Made in the USA I believe. Comfortable. Get one. It's nice.
I looked around at other places for a similar glider. One problem, arms. This one allows you to play freely without damaging your instument. The cusion is soft and comfortable and I am a BIG guy. So, that is a plus. Great chair.
This comes in two pieces: the glider and the back. They are held together with four bolts with a washer in between to protect the chair. All you will need tool-wise is a 1/2 in wrench. Although, when I got mine, the ziploc bag that held the bolts and washers was ripped. So, all I could find was 4 bolts and 1 washer. I took the remaining washer to the local hardware store and $.85 later I had all 4. BTW: You might need a prybar to get the stapled lumber off the glider assembly. It is there to add support during shipping. Just be careful.
I would estimate this thing to be about $50 to $75 on the high side when I bought it, but it is solid and I wouldn't trade mine in.

Not only do I play in this chair, I also watch TV and read. It is the perfect angle for my bad back and it moves so that you aren't stuck in one position. I have used it for over two years. A little pricey but great . By the way, I weigh 220 and it is just fine...probably 250 would be the limit.
