Martin’s History

For 175 years, six generations of the Martin family have built the instruments that have sung America’s song. Along the way, C.F. Martin and Company have pioneered the art and craft of luthiery, and have influenced major music trends in the U.S. and abroad. Martin guitars have accompanied our most famous singers and American soldiers took them into battle dating back to the Civil War. No other guitar company can claim such a rich history, and few can look forward to such a bright future.
