Designed for guitarists and singer-songwriters, Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 software is an outstanding recording solution that takes your music from riff to hit easier than ever. With Guitar Tracks Pro 4 you get much more than just recording software. You get an amazing virtual guitar amp for inspired, arena-ready tones—without disturbing the neighbors. You also get an entire backing band of virtual instruments—always ready to accompany you. Cakewalk's music software also has precise audio editing tools to comp the perfect solo or vocal track, a mixing console, effects arsenal, and makes it easy to burn CDs or upload your music directly to the web—all for less than a few hours in the recording studio.

Multitrack Recording Software
Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 has an easy—to-use interface which puts key features easily accessible with a single mouse click, while precise sound editing tools help you tweak your tracks to perfection. You don't have to be a professional recording engineer to create your own professional-grade tracks.

With this production software you can create, edit, and print your own notation and tablature from any MIDI file or MIDI track. Download MIDI files to learn and play along. Double synth parts on guitar. Make tab for your rhythm guitarist, and more. Included fretboard view makes it easy to match notes to the guitar neck.

The virtual mixer lets you take control of your mix and get it just right with all the important tools and controls right there: mute, solo, pan, EQ, FX, and more.

Virtual Amp
Guitar Tracks Pro 4 gives you great tone, right inside your PC—just plug in your guitar and go. Access authentic sounds from classic country to arena rock and everything in between; Native Instruments' Guitar Rig 3 LE has you covered.

Your Backing Band
No band? No problem. Cakewalk Studio Instruments boasts top-quality electric bass, drums, piano, and strings—it's like having session players at your disposal 24/7. You can also add additional virtual instruments with support for VST and ReWire.

Studio-quality Effects
Get amazing sounds with 12 included studio-quality effects: Classic Phaser, Modfilter, Chorus/Flanger, Tempo Delay, Bit Decimator, Studioverb, HF Exciter, Compressor/Gate, Para-Q, and more. Guitar Tracks Pro 4's effects include useful pre-configured presets for commonly used sounds. You can use these effects on input to hear them as you record or add them later on in the mixing process. Use them on any track or bus (group of tracks) simultaneously. Add up to 24 effects per project and easily turn on/off the effects for quick A/B comparisons, and add additional effects with support for 3rd party VST plug-ins.

Get more volume and punch from your final mix with the Boost 11 limiter/maximizer. It gives you professional results with a simple-to-use interface. The Boost 11 Peak Limiter provides transparent peak limiting and volume maximization without coloring the sound of the source material. It employs a "look-ahead" limiter algorithm to prevent output clipping and PDR (Program Dependent Release) to minimize pumping (fluctuations of the volume) and maximize the loudness.

Additional Content
Play along with drum loops recorded by world-class players John Blackwell (Prince, Justin Timberlake), Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney), Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis, Tears for Fears), Ed Greene (Steely Dan, Barry White), Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheny Group, Sting) courtesy of Sonic Reality.

A stompbox costs more?

By Mark Stevens

from Culver,IN

Comments about Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4:

For the price of a single distortion pedal, you can buy a great piece of software! Like stated before, at the bottom end of software multitrack recording, but trust me, if you just want to lay down some tracks, mix them, and burn to CD, in one application...here ya go.It has many plug-ins and effects, along with Studio Instruments for backing tracks, I am running on Windows 7x64, so no problem there.I also own Sonar 8.5 Producer, which is Cakewalks "Big Boy", and I actually like the layout better on Guitar tracks. One suggestion, is to buy the UA-1G, audio interface, so there are no latency problems. Can't go wrong at this price, you wont be disappointed. Rock on!

Dont buy

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4:

I dont have this product, but I have their other guitar tracks programs, which they no longer support, and in a couple of years they wont support this one either. I'm tired of being ripped of by companies that after you buy their stuff, in a couple of years they stop supporting it leaving you with a whole bunch of projects you did, that you can not use on your new computer, or OP system without buying their next program. Save your money; get yourself a good hardware digital recorder, and hardware effects! All these software companies are ripoffs!

Nice simple program

By Alex-m723D

from Pennsylvania

Comments about Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4:

This program was very easy to install and it's pretty easy to use. I had been using an old Cakewalk program before this. I only bought Guitar Tracks Pro 4 because I needed a program that would work with Windows 7. It is easy to use and gets the job done. That being said, there are a few things that the old program was better for.The included Studio Instruments program is a great feature for laying down quick tracks, but they don't sound like real instruments would. The strings sound pretty good, but the drums, bass and strings are mediocre. If you want a super high end program, this won't do it for you. If you want to do some multitrack recording without dealing with a bunch of complicated bells and whistles then this should be a good match for you.

Exceptional

Comments about Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4:

I have to rave about this product. I started with Cakewalk through the digitech GNX4 with pro tracks. This is a serious upgrade! Everything is so intuitive, within minutes of instalation I created a killer backing track with the virtual instruments and was recording some of my most inspired work yet. The drums are nothing short of sweet@! The way everything just snaps into the correct key and tempo is extra nice and saves untold tweaking time. I have the Boss dr 880, and the VI Drums are the equal of my machine. I am running the program on Vista, 64 bit, so I don't know what the guy who can't get his to work with Vista's prob is, But it is not that, it works flawlesly. The Guitar rig is great too. One of the issues I have with the GNX4 is that there are tons of distortion sounds to use, but so few decent clean tones. Guitar rig solved that prob with aplomb. This is a phenomenal product at a ultra phenomenal price.

Great Recording Software

By Slink

from South Carolina

Comments about Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4:

Guitar Tracks Pro 4 is a great way to get started with a home studio. I currently use my GTP4 with my PODxt with no trouble at all. While this software is feature packed, it cannot beat out Sonar for diversity but at 1/3 the price you cannot go wrong. If you are looking to break into the recording world. This is a great way to start.Pros: Easy to useClear HQ recordingWorks with many Popular VSTsMultiple Track Recordinglots of Drum, Strings and Bass tracks to choose from out of the box.Vocals recordingLow cost compaired to other software on the marketComes with Guitar RigCons:Lacks documentation on some key featuresIf you do not have a MIDI keyboard you will have to construct custom loops by hand (does not support PC keyboard input for MIDI construction)Piano Roll feature is not very precise and hard to get used to.
