Over three years ago Hurricane Katrina struck the New Orleans area followed three weeks later by Hurricane Rita that again flooded much of the region. The devastation to the Gulf Coast has been called the greatest disaster in our nation's history and the Crescent City is still digging out.

In 2007 Musician’s Friend and Gibson forged a partnership working in conjunction with The Edge's charity, Music Rising, to help the Crescent City’s legendary music community recover from the devastation. Gibson created two versions of the Epiphone Limited Edition Music Rising Les Paul Standard with all sale proceeds going to replace instruments and equipment lost to the flood.

Featuring graphics designed by The Edge, each Epiphone Music Rising Les Paul comes with a certificate of authenticity personally signed by the U2 guitarist and a custom gig bag.

For corporate donors and others seeking a higher level of involvement, the Epiphone Limited Edition Signed Music Rising Les Paul Standard has been personally signed by The Edge making it a collectible reminder of their contributions.

Many professional musicians have already had their gear replaced by Music Rising. In the next phase, the program will concentrate on replacing instruments lost by schools and churches.
