I was advised by customer service that the cello would only have some minor cosmetic flaws. The cello actually had some major construction flaws that would be costly to repair. I decided to send the cello back for a full refund.

I recently went to my local music store to pick up a cello, and i selected this one. I'm happy to say that this cello has a rich, deep tone, and was very well and sturdily built. Overall, i would definitely recommend this instrument to any beginning cellist, regardless of their budget,

I bought one for my daughter to play. It was carefully set up by a local luthier, who hand carved the bridge to get rid of the famous wolf that plagues most mass produced instruments. This is a good sounding instrument when properly set up. Most of the success of a stringed instrument is in the set-up of the bridge and the sound post.
