In addition to free shipping to and from the repair center, Gold Coverage comes with coverage for accidental damage. So, in addition to the normal wear and tear that may cause the instrument to fail, Gold Coverage protects you against damage caused by spills, drops, impacts, dust, internal heat, humidity and even lightning and/or power surges. Gold Coverage is transferrable from the original owner, adding value if you ever want to sell your gear.
Finally, Gold Coverage is a "no lemon" policy: "If we fail to fix a product for the same reason 3 times, we'll provide a full refund in the form of a gift certificate."

Silver Coverage from Musician's Friend resides with the original owner and is not transferable.
Making a Silver Coverage claim does not affect the terms of any product's existing manufacturer's warranty in any way, nor does getting repairs under a manufacturer's warranty affect Silver Coverage. Is that cool, or what?
Silver Coverage only applies to electric guitars, electric bass guitars, acoustic guitars, acoustic bass guitars. Silver coverage is only available for items purchased after 12/01/2013. Silver Coverage is not available for Condition 4 Used Products.
Silver Coverage does not indemnify customers for loss of income when a piece of equipment fails and/or occurs during the time the equipment has been sent to us for repair.
We reserve the right to accept or reject any product presented to us for warranty coverage when damage or playability is compromised due to conditions inconsistent with an items intended use. Similarly, we reserve the right to modify the conditions of this warranty at our discretion and without prior notice.
