Your microphone is begging you for the CAD EPF-15A 6-Inch Flexible Pop Filter. Would you take your brand new microphone into the shower with you? Didn't think so! But every time your singer starts belting out the chorus, they're bathing that mic in a spray of moisture. What's more, when they sing a word that starts with "p" or "b," the VU meters go ballistic! Here's the solution—the CAD Pop Filter. The washable nylon mesh screen gently breaks up that explosive rush of air while allowing high frequencies through and keeping moisture out. The flexible gooseneck holder and swivel mount make it easy to put the Pop Filter exactly where you need it!

Had mine for a few years now, works great. I like the removable mesh filter since it allows you to alternate materials and experiment. Yes, the inner ring can slip out but it's not prone nor does it just jump free out of nowhere. I don't notice any difference in frequency response in the tests I've done, just a cleaner response and no dulling of my voice.I had oiginally used mine mainly for miking my guitar amp to kill transient noise, works great. The knob for locking it onto your boom needs a good amount of muscle when locking it into position and this relates to my only criticism. It drives a bolt directly against the metal shaft of the boom. No plate with rubber padding between the bolt and boom shaft for protection and better gripping so I simply made my own. A piece of rectangular clear plastic cut from a CD spindle cover and some rubber used for feet on appliances.Beyond that, it's just as good as any you see running 4 times the cost. Possibly better since you can insert different screen materials. Just be aware that if someone unfamiliar with it is fussing with the ring, they may pop it free and frown upon your gear lol.

This pop filter will indeed keep plosives out, as it is double-ply thick, and of a material like support hose (stockings).

The downsides, however, negate its technical functionality. The filter assembly is quite heavy and the flexible bendy arm that is supposed to permit you to place it where you need it will, in almost every case, have difficulty supporting the weight of the ring and filter. The result is that it will lazily droop from where you want it and require you to continually spend time trying to pre-stress the arm to have the filter higher than you want the filter to be so that it then relaxes into the correct position. It's fairly maddening, like having shoelaces that come untied every 5 minutes.

Less of an issue is that the screen's inner ring will pop out, and the filter can also come partly off (mine has). As bad as this is, the difficulty of continually putting the filter where it needs to be is worse.

I'm back to buy another model. I'd have to think the thin metal ones might do the job for about the same price and will not be subject to this fault.

Comments about CAD EPF-15A 6" Flexible Pop Filter:

This pop filter stops plosives and improves the sound quality excellently, but the only problem is...it does not stay where you put it! Everything but the gooseneck is amazing. Sure, you can minipulate it so it stays, but you'll be there a while. But this pop filter works amazingly in the sound area and an added plus is that if the nylon rips, then you can put new nylon on extremely easily.

It does exactly what it is supposed to. It blocks the sounds you don't want and keeps your mic from becoming damaged.

I got it free when i bought a new condenser. It's pretty cheeply made. Nothing stays tight to long, and thus it requires a lot of adjustment to keep it going. It filters pops well enough though, it's just kinda agrivating because it comes loose so much. But hey, I got it free so I'm happy :p

Comments about CAD EPF-15A 6" Flexible Pop Filter:

This Pop filter is very nice and the long goose neck gives the user the flexibility to move it in many ways, one complaint is that the plastic that holds the mesh had a tendancy to slip out of place, Overall very good!!!

Great pop filter for the money

Comments about CAD EPF-15A 6" Flexible Pop Filter:

I don't know why they wouldn't mention this in the ad, but this is a double sided pop filter. I haven't seen any this good at this price. Got mine free with a microphone also, the Rode NT1A. I've got another pop filter I payed twenty bucks for & I'm using it junction with this one to create a three stage filter. Can't say much for the build or it's durability as I just got mine today, but so far the gooseneck has been pretty flexible and stays in place well. If you're having trouble positioning in front of an upright mic, hang the mic upside down from the shockmount and bring the pop filter under and up. Overall at this price I'd say buy it, it is afterall a two stage filter;^]
